Kiessling came on in the 64th minute and provided an assist on two key passes while also taking two shots and winning five aerial duels in Saturday's 3-2 win against Mainz 05.

Kiessling's appearance off the bench made an immediate impact on the match. One of his first passes found Chicharito, whose shot struck off the defender's leg and curled into the net. This was Kiessling's second appearance of the season, and while he hasn't earned a start yet after recovering from a hip injury, Leverkusen's busy match schedule may afford him that opportunity in the near future. Bayer Leverkusen face Monaco this Tuesday in the Champions League.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Kiessling exploded for a brace plus two assists in Saturday's 5-0 win over Monchengladbach, firing four shots in the process.

The 31-year-old had a rather pedestrian one goal in 14 league appearances heading into the game, but he enjoyed his best performance of the season as he and Chicharito ran roughshod over the fifth-place club. Kiessling's record this year indicates that Saturday's performance is likely an outlier, but he could see an uptick in production if he begins to see regular starts alongside the red-hot Mexican. Leverkusen will take on Ingolstadt this Saturday.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Kiessling enjoyed another productive season for Bayer, totaling 16 goals and five assists in all competitions.

After scoring four goals in his first three matches, the 31-year-old didn't have any especially productive stretches, but never went more than four league matches without factoring into a goal. Kiessling has stated that he intends to honor his contract with the club, which runs through 2017, and he appears likely to stay with Leverkusen this summer.

He was sent through by Roberto Hilbert's pass for a simple finish to double Leverkusen's lead just before the hour. Kiessling only took one shot all game but made it count before being replaced by Josip Drmic on 78 minutes.

Kiessling netted in extra-time as Leverkusen survived a DFB Pokal scare against Kaiserslautern to win 2-0 Tuesday.

Leverkusen have made hard work of this season DFB Pokal after needing penalties to overcome Regonalliga side Magdeburg in the previous round. Kiessling got the goal that wrapped things up against second division Kaiserslautern, beating on-rushing goalkeeper Marius Müller in the 113th minute. Kiessling had only come on as a substitute in the 79 minute but managed to grab his sixth goal of this season's competiton.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Kiessling scored the match winner in the 49th minute of Bayer Leverkusen's 1-0 win over Hertha Berlin on Wednesday.

After netting 15 times in 32 Bundesliga appearances last season, Kiessling has really struggled to get going this term, as his goal Wednesday was just his fourth in 19 league games.
