Kiessling enjoyed another productive season for Bayer, totaling 16 goals and five assists in all competitions.

After scoring four goals in his first three matches, the 31-year-old didn't have any especially productive stretches, but never went more than four league matches without factoring into a goal. Kiessling has stated that he intends to honor his contract with the club, which runs through 2017, and he appears likely to stay with Leverkusen this summer.

Kiessling scored the match winner in the 49th minute of Bayer Leverkusen's 1-0 win over Hertha Berlin on Wednesday.

After netting 15 times in 32 Bundesliga appearances last season, Kiessling has really struggled to get going this term, as his goal Wednesday was just his fourth in 19 league games.

Kießling got an assist Saturday as Bayer Leverkusen drew 3-3 with VfB Stuttgart.

Kießling gained his first assist of the Bundesliga season when he slid a ball through for Heung-Min Son after just four minutes. However despite taking a 3-0 lead into half-time, his side only left the game with a point. Kießling will always be an attacking threat for Leverkusen and alongside Heung-Min Son and Karim Bellarabi there are sure to be many goals and assists this season. However they will have to rely on their team's defense to be a lot more robust if Leverkusen are to be successful.

Kießling scored and won a penalty as Bayer Leverkusen ran out comfortable 3-1 winners Wednesday against Benfica in Champions League Group C.

Kießling continued his impressive Champions League form with his fourth goal in as many games. He took advantage of Julio Cesar's fumble in the first half to give Leverkusen the lead and then won a penalty when fouled by Benfica's Nivaldo Jardel. A great performance by the striker who will be looking to improve his Bundesliga scoring tally against Paderborn Saturday which currently only stands at one goal.
