Odemwingie is available off the bench Saturday against Sunderland after recovering from a knee ligament injury.

Odemwingie has been sidelined since September, so it's not surprising that he's only fit for the bench against Sunderland. In fact, he's likely to play a reserve role for the rest of the season.

Odemwingie (knee) recently underwent surgery to repair the cruciate ligament in one of his knees, the Stoke Sentinel reports.

Odemwingie will now have to wait until the swelling in his knee goes down before deciding on a course of rehabilitation. Given that situation, the striker is expected to be sidelined until further notice.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Odemwingie suffered a knee injury in Saturday's Premier League match against Manchester City and he will require surgery that will sideline him for a number of weeks.

Manager Mark Hughes noted that it will take a few weeks for the swelling to go down in Odemwingie's knee before he can begin to work his way back. With the injury, Odemwingie was left out of the 25-man squad that Stoke City submitted to the Premier League on Wednesday.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Odemwingie scored in the 29th minute of Nigeria's 1-0 win over Bosnia and Herzegovina in the World Cup on Saturday.

Odemwingie's goal eliminated Bosnia and Herzegovina from knockout stage contention and puts Nigeria in an excellent position to advance. They currently sit at four points and need only a draw against Argentina to advance. Iran have one point and need to win against Bosnia and Herzegovina to have a chance.

Odemwingie notched both a goal and an assist in Saturday's win over Fulham.

Odemwingie led the line quite well for Stoke on Saturday, opening the scoring in the 39th minute before setting up the Potters' second goal early in the second-half. Since joining from Cardiff City in January, the striker has produced five goals and one assist in 14 starts.

Odemwingie has now found the net in three consecutive Premier League games. With four goals in nine starts, the veteran striker has played well since moving to Stoke City in January.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Odemwingie scored in the 32nd and 79th minutes of Stoke's 3-1 win over West Ham on Saturday.

Odemwingie now has three goals since joining Stoke in January, as they continue to look for a consistent offensive threat.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Odemwingie officially joined Stoke City on Tuesday.

Odemwingie joins Stoke, while Kenwye Jones was sent back to Cardiff. The former has only one goal in Premier League play this season and it's difficult to see his fantasy value significantly increasing in the short term.
