Alcaraz is dealing with a muscular injury and will not play Sunday against Tottenham.

Alcaraz doesn't play much even when he's fully fit, so his absence Sunday isn't likely to change many fantasy rosters.

Alcaraz picked up a red card after two yellows, for two dangerous tackles in the 2-0 loss to Hull City Thursday.

Alcaraz and Everton completely lost their composure on New Years Day and it appears they've hit rock bottom. Alcaraz did play well defensively prior to the aggressive challenges winning five aerial battles and making five clearances. This was Alcaraz's sixth start of the year and he'll miss Everton's next match against a tough Man City side.

Alcaraz (shoulder) made his long-awaited return to the pitch against FK Krasnodar during Europa League competition.

The defender has been sidelined with a shoulder injury since Nov. 1. Alcaraz also returned to the starting XI against FK Krasnodar, so the 32-year-old seems to be in full health moving forward.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Alcaraz will miss at least four to five weeks due to the shoulder injury he suffered last Saturday against Swansea.

With Alcaraz sidelined again, Sylvain Distin could regain his spot in the starting XI. There was a possibility that Alcaraz would need surgery, but manager Roberto Martinez confirmed Friday that he would not require any kind of procedure, keeping his time out on the shorter side of initial estimations.

Alcaraz (leg) has regained his fitness and has a good chance to be in the lineup when Everton face Chelsea on Saturday, the Liverpool Echo reports. Alcaraz has played in just three Premier League matches as he has dealt with groin injuries and muscle fatigue all season. He now looks like he could be ready to get more playing time for the Toffees.

Alcaraz has provided very little fantasy value in his brief appearances as he has yet to collect a clean sheet and has attempted just one shot. His value for the rest of the season will come from Everton's chances of keeping a clean sheet, should he see regular playing time upon his return.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Alcaraz has been ruled out for Saturday's match against Aston Villa due to a recurrence of his muscle fatigue, the Liverpool Echo reports.

Alcaraz played a full 90 minutes against Liverpool on Tuesday, but the muscle fatigue that held him out of the previous three games returned. Manager Roberto Martinez said Alcaraz will be out for "a while," which only adds fuel to the fire that is burning the Everton back four, with Sylvain Distin and Seamus Coleman also out with injuries.

Alcaraz was in the starting XI and played all 90 minutes of Tuesday's 0-4 loss to Liverpool.

Alcaraz hadn't played since January 1 and was making only his third Premier League appearance of the season. There have been some injuries to the Everton back four, which means he could see a few more starts in the near future.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Alcaraz is expected to be sidelined for the next two weeks due to muscle fatigue, according to Goal.com.

Alcaraz was returning from a hernia problem he had in the pre-season, and he wasn't able to gradually increase his minutes on the pitch due to various injuries in the Everton defensive front. He clearly did too much, too quickly, and he'll likely miss at least next matchweek's game against West Brom.
