Ozil (knee) came on in the 73rd minute for Olivier Giroud and finished with one shot and one tackle, while completing 22 passes, during Sunday's 3-0 win over Stoke City.

Ozil was making his first appearance since Oct. 5 against Chelsea due to the knee injury, but he looked solid in his limited time Sunday. If he can put together a full week of training, he has a shot of returning to the starting XI for next Sunday's crunch match at Manchester City.

Ozil (knee) is available off the bench for Sunday's match against Stoke City.

Ozil has been out since October, and while manager Arsene Wenger said he was cleared to play, he was unlikely to start right away after such a long layoff. If he does appear against the Potters, and has a good week of training, Ozil may return to the starting XI for next Sunday's match against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.

Ozil (knee) has returned to full training and he will be available for Sunday's match against Stoke City, manager Arsene Wenger confirmed Friday.

Ozil has been sidelined since early October, with Arsenal making it sound like the injury was minor but the German national team then ruling him out for 10-to-12 weeks. Either way, he has returned to fitness, though after such a long layoff, he is unlikely to start right away.

Manager Arsene Wenger said Sunday that Ozil (knee) is expected back "at the beginning of January."

Ozil is unlikely to return for the New Year's Day clash at Southampton, but he could be eased back in against Hull City in the FA Cup on Jan. 4.

Ozil said Thursday that he will need at least another seven weeks to recover from the ligament tear in his knee, The Guardian reports. "I have already been out for five weeks and will be out for another seven weeks," Ozil said.

Ozil's initial timetable for return was 10 to 12 weeks, with his new estimate putting him at the longer end of that spectrum. Unfortunately for fantasy owners, he's likely seven weeks away from training, which will put his return to matches even further away.

Ozil has been ruled out for 10 to 12 weeks due to ruptured ligaments in his left knee, ESPN FC reports.

Ozil's injury is a massive blow to an Arsenal squad that has already fallen victim to their customary medical woes this season. Along with Olivier Giroud (leg) and Mathieu Debuchy (ankle) being ruled out until 2015, the club's record signing Ozil will now likely face the same fate. His injury is a bit curious, considering he played the entirety of Sunday's match against Chelsea, only to have his problem detected upon joining Germany for their upcoming Euro 2016 qualifiers. Nonetheless, the playmaker has been diagnosed with a partial lateral collateral ligament tear in his left knee, which impacts his dominant leg. With the World Cup winner sidelined, as well as Aaron Ramsey (hamstring), far more responsibility should fall on players like Jack Wilshere, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and Santi Cazorla as attacking midfielders for the Gunners moving forward.

Ozil assisted one goal in Wednesday's 4-1 win at home to Galatasaray.

Ozil played in Alexis Sanchez in the 41st minute to give the home side a 3-0 lead to take in at the half. Ozil, after overcoming early criticism, is starting to see the fruits of having Sanchez and Danny Welbeck in the side to benefit from his build up play.

Ozil scored in the 32nd minute and then assisted on Danny Welbeck's 34th minute goal during Arsenal's 3-0 Premier League win over Aston Villa on Saturday.

Ozil started slowly this season after a long run with Germany at the World Cup and there were some whispers of labeling him a bust following his big-money move from Real Madrid last summer. He's always been known more for his setting up goals than scoring them himself, and if Welbeck can stay fit, he gives Ozil a very solid target alongside Aaron Ramsey and Alexis Sanchez.
