Ozil (hip) was training with the squad and could be available against Aston Villa on Sunday.

While Ozil's return from injury is certainly good news for Arsenal, his availability for Germany in the European Championship in June is perhaps the bigger story. In EPL contests this year, the midfield booted more than 10 crosses into attacking areas on six separate occasions, including a season high 18 against Southampton. The 27-year-old racked up eight goals and 18 assists for Arsenal in all competitions, which is why the Gunners are eager to lock him into a new contract.

The German midfielder has 18 assists so far this season and has two years remaining on his current contract. Both sides are expected to complete the deal, which should be very lucrative for the midfielder.

Ozil tallied three shots (two on target), four crosses and five dribbles in Thursday's 2-0 win over West Brom.

The maestro put on another statistical show and his fantasy owners can really feel unfortunate that he couldn't capitalize on that game with a bigger output. Nevertheless, with six goals and 18 assists in 32 Premier League games he remains a top fantasy option.

Ozil attempted two shots, played eight key passes and put in 10 crosses during Sunday's draw with Crystal Palace.

The playmaker sprayed passes all over the field, creating several chances, and he came close to nabbing a goal of his own as he sent a free-kick just wide of the top corner. Ozil has now tied a season-high streak of five games without an assist, and he will look to break that drought Thursday versus West Brom.

Ozil scored a goal on one shot (one on target) in Saturday's 3-3 draw with West Ham.

Whether Ozil was offsides or not is something for the pundits to decide; however, the linkup play between him and Alex Iwobi has been a massive boon to Arsenal's goal scoring numbers. Ozil's more of a creator than a scorer, but this was his sixth goal of the season to go with a league-leading 18 assists.

Ozil was unable to train with the German national team on Wednesday because of an ankle injury he suffered last Saturday against Everton.

Ozil's issue isn't considered overly serious, though it sounds like he could miss one of Germany's two matches over the international break.
