Ozil won three tackles, put in six crosses, provided an assist and scored a hat-trick from four shot attempts during Wednesday's 6-0 thumping of Ludogorets in the Champions League.

Ozil was content to play the role of provider in the first half, and he sent a delicate chipped pass that Theo Walcott collected and deposited into the goal to double the lead before the break. The second stanza was a different story, however, as Ozil ran behind the defense and slotted home a long feed from Santi Cazorla before finishing crosses from Lucas Perez in the 83rd and 87th minutes for the first hat-trick of his professional career. Ozil has seen a noticeable uptick in goal scoring this season with an improved supporting cast around him, and he is already nearing the career-high 10 he managed with Real Madrid in 2012/13. He will have the opportunity to follow up on this outstanding performance Saturday versus Middlesbrough in league play.

Ozil scored a goal on two shots (one on target) in Saturday's 3-2 victory over Swansea City.

Not typically known for his goal-scoring prowess, Ozil made for quite the time to start on his 28th birthday, volleying home into the top corner from an inch-perfect Alexis Sanchez ball to move Arsenal up 3-1. While things got dicey at the end, necessitating the switch from Ozil to Kieran Gibbs to shore things up defensively after Granit Xhaka was sent off, Ozil was outstanding as Arsenal looked as creative as they ever have been, though still lacked some quality on the final ball as three could've been four or more goals.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Ozil is starting on Saturday against Swansea City.

Ozil was removed at halftime of Germany's World Cup qualifier earlier this week, but the issue wasn't considered serious and he'll return to his regular starting spot against a Swans side that is playing under new manager Bob Bradley for the first time.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Ozil is expected to be available for Saturday's match against Swansea City despite leaving Germany's World Cup qualifier earlier this week at halftime. "He told us he’s completely fit," manager Arsene Wenger said on Thursday. "We’ll see that today [Thursday], if we have no bad news today. I see him later. I expect him to be available, especially because he’s only played one half, so he doesn’t need to be rested on Saturday."

Ozil's absence would certainly be a hit to the Arsenal midfield, especially since they will continue to be without Aaron Ramsey (thigh). However, if he trains well enough Thursday and Friday, he should take his regular spot in the starting XI against a Swansea side that has struggled this season and will be playing their first game under new manager Bob Bradley.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Ozil was replaced at halftime of Tuesday's World Cup qualifying win over Northern Ireland due to a non-injury related reason, according to

Upon fears that the substitution has been made because of an injury, Ozil took it to Twitter to confirm he was not hurt. The playmaker should be a full-go versus Swansea on Saturday, though the situation is worth keeping an eye on.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Ozil won two tackles, made two interceptions, put in five crosses and scored on his only shot during Saturday's 3-0 triumph over Chelsea.

Ozil was at the heart of many intricate Arsenal attacks in his Man of the Match performance, and he put his side up three in the 40th minute from an Alexis Sanchez pass. Ozil has yet to provide an assist in six appearances this season, but he has been essential to what has been a fine run of form for his side and already has two goals to his name after totaling eight all of last season. He will look to build on this performance Wednesday versus FC Basel in the Champions League.

Arsenal is working to gain agreement on a new contract for Ozil to secure his future with the club, according to the Daily Mail.

The midfielder has less than two years remaining on his current contract, and is expected to be offered a pay raise along with the new agreement.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Ozil scored a goal on one shot (one on target) in 70 minutes of work during Saturday's 3-1 victory over Watford.

A bit sluggish for the opening half-hour, Ozil found his form for the final 15 minutes of the half, linking up well with Alexis Sanchez time-and-again to generate a number of chances. As time expired in the first half, it was Sanchez who found Ozil unmarked in the box for a rare header to expand the Gunners' advantage to three. Still working into fitness, he made it 70 minutes before giving way to Jack Wilshere, but his return to the pitch for a real stretch of time helped shore up the Arsenal attack significantly.
