The midfielder has seven months remaining on his current contract, but after numerous injuries it would appear as though Arsenal will not attempt to renew the agreement.

Diaby continues to recover from a calf injury, and while he has been training, he is still a few weeks away from returning.

Even when he does reach full fitness, Diaby will remain a very limited fantasy option given his expected lack of playing time during Premier League fixtures.

Diaby, who has missed more than a year with knee and groin injuries, is available off the bench Sunday against West Brom.

Diaby's career has been riddled by injuries, so there's not much here from a fantasy perspective, especially so late in the season.

Diaby (knee) played 45 minutes in an Arsenal Under 21 match against Chelsea on Tuesday, reports the Daily Mail.

The midfielder has been out for more than a year after an injury to his knee. He was replaced at half time, but being able to play 45 minutes is a step forward after such a long absence.

Diaby (knee) is expected to return to training Thursday, although he is unlikely to play in any matches this season, the Independent reports. "Abou is back in full training on Thursday," manager Arsene Wenger said. "It's very difficult to say [if he will play this season] because he has not played for over a year now, and it's very difficult for me [to decide]. He looks physically fine, but he has to play one or two games before I consider bringing him back."

In all likelihood, Diaby will return next season, battling for a spot in a very crowded midfield.

Diaby, who had ACL surgery last March, had to undergo an additional operation and is now expected to be out until next March, the Mirror reports. Manager Arsene Wenger said Diaby "had a little key hole surgery again, on the knee because his knee blew up every time he did something so it is not six months after the cruciate. He could not even jog yet so with new surgery it is a set back for him so competitive football cannot be played before March."

This is a major blow for Diaby, who had been dogged by injuries throughout his career. Arsenal have been perfectly fine without him, so it shouldn't be a major change to their plans, or the plans of fantasy owners.

The injury means that Diaby will be out until the holiday period of next season. He will also undergo surgery to repair the ligament.
