Diouf is not in the 18-man squad to face Watford on Saturday.

Diouf recently returned from compassionate leave and only trained lightly this week, so he'll take another few days to prepare for next weekend's match against Newcastle.

Diouf could feature Saturday against Watford after returning from compassionate leave.

Manager Mark Hughes said Friday that Diouf would be in consideration for a start Saturday because he is still fit, though he hasn't trained much this week. If he doesn't start, Joselu could keep the job.

Diouf will not play Monday against Swansea City while on compassionate leave, manager Mark Hughes said Thursday.

Diouf had been dealing with a thigh injury as well, but he's been giving leave following the tragic death of his mother. It is unclear when Diouf will return, leaving a bit void to fill in the Potters' attack.

Diouf had to be stretchered off late in Saturday's match against Aston Villa with a suspected thigh injury.

Diouf will at least get the international break to try and recover, though he looked to be in a pretty bad spot after the incident. Stoke have a number of attacking options, though Diouf would be a big void to fill.

Diouf scored the game-winning goal as a sub in a 2-1 win over Bournemouth on Saturday.

Diouf scored a lovely header in the 83rd minute to capture the three points for the Potters. This was his third goal of the season, but it was a bit strange he didn't start. There's no word why other than a minor calf injury from two weeks ago and he should be back in the starting XI next Saturday against Aston Villa.

Diouf (calf) is starting Saturday against Arsenal.

Diouf was considered a real injury doubt due to the ailment, but he'll slot into the starting lineup alongside Joselu, who is in for the injured Jonathan Walters (knee).

Diouf scored in the 11th minute of Saturday's 1-1 draw at Norwich City.

Diouf tallied his second goal in as many games with an unmarked header at the back post from a free-kick situation Saturday. Starting in a central striker role this season, Diouf seems a solid bet to lead Stoke in goals once again and has gotten off to a fine start already this term.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Diouf got off five shots and scored on a header in the 83rd minute of Stoke's 2-2 draw with Spurs on Saturday.

All of Diouf's five shots were on target and he was unlucky not to score more then once. He's a very dangerous player and if he continues to play like this, he could have a nice goal tally by the end of the season. Look for Diouf to start again next Saturday when Stoke take on Norwich.
