Ramos had one of his most difficult seasons with Real Madrid this past year, only appearing in 23 matches due to injuries and late-season red cards. He closed the season at full strength though, helping Real reach the Champions League final.

At 30 years old, Ramos has yet another big summer ahead of him with the UEFA Champions League final and Euro 2016 only a couple weeks later. He may be getting older, but he's still as valuable as ever for club and country and can provide in more ways than one in terms of fantasy, due to his penchant for getting forward.

Ramos made a pair of interceptions, blocked two shots and won a whopping nine tackles in Wednesday's 2-0 win over Roma.

While he made no impact at the offensive end, Ramos' dominance in his own defensive third was crucial to his club's success, as Roma threatened throughout. Ramos' offensive production has been sparse this season, making him rather reliant on clean sheets to generate fantasy points, but he does carry some value in formats that reward defensive stats. He will captain Los Blancos once again this weekend versus Malaga.

Ramos provided an assist in Saturday's 5-0 thumping of Deportivo, but he was forced off the pitch at half time because of a calf injury, the Daily Mail reports.

The captain has downplayed the severity of the injury, and Real Madrid's comfortable standing in the match likely allowed them to exercise caution with their star defender. Ramos could be available for Sunday's home match versus Sporting Gijon, but the winnable nature of the fixture could see him held out as a precaution, if he is deemed to be at less than 100 percent.

Ramos played 58 minutes and kept a clean sheet Tuesday as Real Madrid beat Shakhtar Donetsk 4-0 in the Champions League.

Ramos had his fourth straight clean sheet in all competitions as Real easily beat Shakhtar Donetsk. A foul on the defender by opposing midfielder Taras Stepanenko also reduced Shakhtar Donetsk to 10 men, making the game a far more simple task. Ramos was later substituted for Nacho just before the hour.

Ramos had a clean sheet Saturday as Real Madrid beat Espanyol 6-0.

Real are yet to concede in La Liga this season and are looking far more solid defensively under new coach Rafael Benitez. Ramos has been at the heart of the defense for each game and in truth never looked like conceding against Espanyol. The Spanish international was dominant at the back, making five interceptions and five clearances before eventually being substituted on 75 minutes for Raphael Varane.

Ramos kept a clean sheet Sunday as Real Madrid tied 0-0 with Sporting Gijon.

Ramos celebrated a new Real contract by shutting out newly-promoted Gijon. He made a team-high number of eight interceptions in a very steady performance and helped stop the opposition from having a single shot on target. On the basis of this display, Ramos may well turn out to be Real's most important signing of the summer.

Speculation surrounding the defender's future has been one of the biggest transfer stories of the current window. Ramos and Real Madrid will put all of that speculation to rest when the agreement is signed on Monday.
