Luiz has a chance to play in Saturday's match with Swansea City.

Luiz joined Chelsea on deadline day and will have a chance to play Saturday. It is unlikely that he will start, as manager, Antonio Conte, wants to give him and other recent signings to settle in with the rest of the team.

Luiz will line up as a centre back and not a central midfielder, manager Antonio Conte said Wednesday, the Mirror reports.

Luiz has the ability to play in midfield due to his versatility, and while he certainly likes to get involved in the attack, he may need to stay back more under Conte as he did under previous manager Jose Mourinho.

Luiz is heading back to Chelsea after the club and Paris Saint-Germain agreed to terms on a transfer fee.

While personal terms still need to be agreed, the deal is basically done, as Chelsea are expected to pay roughly 32 million for the defender, who they sold for 50 million just two years ago. Luiz will likely start right away in his return, which could push Gary Cahill or John Terry to the bench.

Chelsea have submitted an offer of more than 30 million to bring Luiz back to the club, according to Sky Sports.

Luiz left Chelsea for Paris Saint-Germain two years ago for 50 million. During his time with the London club he made 143 appearances and scored 12 goals.

Luiz secured four interceptions, attempted a pair of shots and contributed to a clean sheet in Sunday's 3-0 victory over Metz.

Luiz was the elder statesman of a defensive unit that was without Thiago Silva once again, and he led PSG to their second consecutive clean sheet to begin league play. Luiz is a key member of what should be one of the most formidable back lines in Ligue 1, and he should be a serviceable fantasy option again Sunday versus Monaco.

Luiz will not be be on the team sheet for Tuesday's Champions League tie against Manchester City due to accumulation of yellow cards.

Luiz has two goals in all competitions, while helping the team record five clean sheets during the group stage. The defender has added 57 tackles and eight shots on target over the course of the 2015-16 campaign. Look for the 28-year-old to rejoin the squad if they can get past Man City on Tuesday.

Luiz has been ruled out for at least four weeks after suffering a thigh injury during Sunday's win over Marseille, Sky Sports reports.

The injury comes at a terrible time for PSG, as Luiz will miss both legs of the Champions League quarterfinal tie with Barcelona, as well as the French Cup final and league cup semifinal. He was instrumental in taking down Chelsea in the Round of 16 and will leave a big hole in the center of defense alongside Thiago Silva.
