Cisse is expected to start Sunday against West Ham despite not being fully fit following recent knee surgery, the Daily Mirror reports.

Cisse has come off the bench twice since returning from his surgery, which he had during his seven-match ban for spitting on Manchester United's Jonny Evans. Newcastle need to win Sunday to ensure they avoid relegation, making Cisse's presence in the lineup of utmost importance, even if he can't go 90 minutes.

Cisse (knee) is available off the bench Saturday against West Brom.

Cisse was suspended for the last seven games, and he barely trained during his time out because of the knee injury. However, he's fit enough to be on the bench Saturday, and he could return to the starting lineup for the final two matches to help Newcastle avoid relegation.

Cisse is eligible for Saturday's match against West Brom following a seven-match suspension, but he has yet to resume training after having a screw removed from his knee in March, the Hartlepool Mail reports.

Newcastle have lost every game during Cisse's suspension and are getting closer and closer to fighting off relegation. Cisse has been by far their best offensive weapon this season, but the fact that he's been unable to train for the procedure certainly puts a heavy cloud of doubt on his available for not only Saturday's match, but the two remaining after that.

Cisse accepted the FA's charge regarding a spitting incident during Wednesday's match against Manchester United and he will serve a seven-match ban, according to Sky Sports.

Cisse was caught on video splitting at Manchester United defenseman Jonny Evans, who appeared to have spit at Cisse first (Evans was also charged). It's a rather extensive ban given the incident, but Cisse accepted the charge and will not be able to play until May 9 against West Brom.

Cisse was charged by the FA on Thursday after being caught on video spitting at Manchester United's Jonny Evans on Wednesday.

Evans was also charged with a spitting incident, and the two could be facing a suspension if their appeals, should they choose to submit one, are denied. Cisse has been playing very well of late, netting twice in his last four matches to increase his league total to 11, which puts him seventh in the Premier League.

Cisse could be gone for up to a month after leaving for the Africa Cup of Nations.

The loss is a big one for Newcastle, as Cisse has been their most consistent attacking threat this season. Ayoze Perez will likely lead the line in Cisse's absence.
