Cisse could return from his groin injury in 3-to-4 weeks, the Shields Gazette.

Cisse has dealt with a number of different ailments this season, and given Newcastle's overhaul during the transfer window, it seems unlikely that he'll have a regular starting spot when he returns to fitness.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Cisse is slated to have surgery on his groin, which will rule him out for months, the Shields Gazette reports.

Cisse had been a steady performer for Newcastle before suffering the injury, though the emergence of Ayoze Perez and Aleksandar Mitrovic softened the blow a bit. Given the timing, it will be a while before Cisse can be a fantasy consideration again.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Cisse is considered doubtful for the Boxing Day clash versus Everton because of a groin injury.

The Senegalese striker left Saturday's match versus Aston Villa in the first half after suffering the injury, and he will be hard-pressed to make it back after a week to recover. Aleksandar Mitrovic and Ayoze Perez are both candidates to enter the starting lineup in Cisse's stead, and it is unclear if he stands a real chance to return for the match versus West Brom just two days later.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Cisse scored off three shots (one on target) in the disastrous 5-1 loss to Crystal Palace on Saturday.

The Senegalese celebrated his return to the starting XI with a nice and hopeful goal. He was told he still have a place in the team and when called upon duty he didn't disappoint proving he still got it. His second goal of the season in his only fifth start may have opened the door for another start next week versus the Reds.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Cisse (back) is available off the bench Saturday at Manchester City.

Aleksandar Mitrovic will get the start once again, and it seems that as long as he is fit, Cisse will be used off the bench, which puts a big hit to his fantasy value.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Cisse (back) is out against Chelsea, Miles Starforth of the Shields Gazette reports. Manager Steve McLaren hopes to have him back in full training on Monday.

After opening his account on opening day against Southampton, Cisse has struggled to find his form since. After being subbed off at halftime against Watford on Sept. 19, Cisse hasn't played since. He will look to get back on the pitch for next weekend's fixture at Manchester City.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Cisse (illness) is available off the bench Saturday against Arsenal.

Cisse missed the Capital One Cup match earlier this week due to the ailment, but he was always expected to be fit for Saturday's match. Unfortunately, it seems he's lost his starting spot to Aleksandar Mitrovic, which obviously puts a huge dent in his fantasy value.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Cisse is expected to be available for Saturday's match against Arsenal after missing Tuesday's Capital One Cup match against Northampton due to illness

Cisse was replaced in the starting XI by Aleksandar Mitrovic for last weekend's Premier League match, and it's unclear if manager Steve MacLaren will keep that going, or possibly start both together. Either way, Cisse's fantasy value obviously takes a hit if he becomes a part-time player.
