Williams signed a four-year contract extension with Swansea City on Friday, keeping him at the club until July 2018, the club's official web site reports.

There were a few different clubs interested in bringing Williams in, but he ultimately decided to keep his captain armband at Swansea. He doesn't do a lot on the attack, so his fantasy value is primarily attached to clean sheets.

Williams' illness wasn't expected to keep him out long, so the news that he'll play Wednesday is surely not surprising. He'll keep the captain's armband and will get a bit of a break, with his next Premier League match coming March 15 against West Brom.
