Wickham (ribs) will start against Chelsea on Saturday.

Wickham is coming into Saturday with a rib injury and he actually was considered doubtful, but he apparently passed a late fitness test and will make a second consecutive start for Crystal Palace. Last time out against Arsenal he only mustered two unsuccesful shot attempts during his 90 minutes on the pitch.

Bakary Sako has played brilliantly in his first two matches for Crystal Palace, and given his ability to play as a midfielder or a forward, he should continue to get consistent playing time for the Eagles.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Wickham did not play Saturday against Aston Villa because of a rib injury, and he is not expected to play Saturday against Chelsea, the South London Press reports.

Glenn Murray got the start Saturday against Villa, and he could very well do the same against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, as Patrick Bamford is ineligible due to his loan from the Blues. With the international break coming up after this weekend's fixtures, Wickham is expected back Sept. 12 against Manchester City.

Wickham is starting Sunday against Arsenal.

Wickham was used off the bench last weekend against Norwich, but he'll slot into the starting role Sunday ahead of Glenn Murray and Patrick Bamford, who are available off the bench. The Arsenal defense is solid, though they struggled last weekend against West Ham, and Palace have always been very solid at home.

Wickham signed a five-year contract with Crystal Palace on Monday after transferring from Sunderland.

Wickham got stuck behind Jermain Defoe and Steven Fletcher on the depth chart at Sunderland, and now joins a Palace team that is relatively deep up front, though he likely has a clearer path to playing time competing against Glenn Murray, who could leave this month, Dwight Gayle and Chelsea-loanee Patrick Bamford.

Wickham grabbed a goal in the opening minute and led Sunderland with five shots in the 1-1 draw to Stoke City Saturday.

Stoke were caught on their heels and Wickham capitalized with Sunderland's quickest goal of the season. This is now two goals in two games and it appears Wickham has found some form after struggling the majority of the season.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Wickham scored a goal on two shots in the 4-1 loss to Crystal Palace Saturday.

This was the definition of a garbage time goal as he scored in the 90th minute down 4-0. Wickham has had a disappointing season recording only four goals and one assist in 30 games. He shows signs of stardom, but the consistency just isn't there for the youngster. Look for Wickham to start next Saturday when Sunderland travel to Arsenal.
