RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Manager Gus Poyet said Thursday that Wickham is rated as 50/50 to play Saturday against Swansea City.

Wickham picked up the injury during warmups of Tuesday's FA Cup match against Fulham, and while Poyet noted that one of Wickham or Jack Rodwell (knock) could play Saturday, he did not specify which he thought was closer. If Wickham sits, Steven Fletcher could be inserted back in the starting lineup to play behind or alongside Jermain Defoe.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Wickham picked up a knock during warmups of Tuesday's FA Cup match against Fulham, manager Gus Poyet said after the game.

The severity of the issue wasn't disclosed, but Wickham should be considered an injury doubt for Saturday's match against Swansea City.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Wickham led Sunderland with three shots and picked up a goal in the 2-0 win over Burnley Saturday.

Wickham had a nice game grabbing a goal and leading the team in shots, but did have six turnovers on the match as well. Wickham shows signs of stardom, but is too inconsistent to trust on a regular basis for fantasy purposes. Wickham has only three goals on 55 shots this season, but could very well lead Sunderland in goals if he continues to start and get off shots at a consistent basis. Look for Wickham to start yet again next Saturday when the Black Cats travel to Swansea.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Wickham had a very active game Sunday, getting off seven shots against Aston Villa in a scoreless draw.

Unfortunately for Wickham, he was never really close to finding the back of the net with only two of his shots on goal, but the activity is a promising sign going forward. Wickham has had over 20 shots combined in his past four games, but has only scored once. If he can find some consistency with his strikes he could become one of the most dangerous strikers in the English Premier League. He'll look to continue firing against Man City next Thursday.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Wickham led Sunderland with five shots in the 1-1 draw with West Ham Saturday.

Wickham is Sunderland's best offensive player and he showed that with his five-shot performance. It's surprising he only has two goals on the season, but he should turn that around and will likely be Sunderland's leading scorer by the end of the year. Sunderland fans will need Wickham to show up next weekend against derby rivals Newcastle in what's always a heated matchup.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Wickham opened up the scoring Wednesday with a nice finish in the 4-1 loss to Manchester City.

The goal appeared to be a good omen for Sunderland taking an early lead on Man City, but the flood gates just opened up after that and Sunderland allowed an unanswered four goals. Wickham has looked good recently and should continue his good form against a poor defense in Liverpool this weekend.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Wickham was Sunderland's most dangerous weapon Saturday, getting off five shots in the scoreless draw to Chelsea.

Wickham has looked like Sunderland's best player all season long even though he only has one goal on the year. It just seems as a matter of time before he gets going in the stat sheet, so he may be a good buy in fantasy before his breakout occurs. Sunderland have another tough matchup next weekend hosting Manchester City.
