Lamela struggled again in his second season with Tottneham, scoring just five goals and providing seven assists.

It was a better return than the Argentine provided in his injury-plagued debut season in England, but he still did not resemble a player who cost $30 million to acquire. Lamela is likely to stay at Spurs in an attempt to prove himself in the Premier League, but he could be labeled as a flop if his level of play does not vastly improve.

Lamela took two shots, both on goal, and scored his first Premier League goal in Tottenham's 2-1 win over Burnley on Saturday.

Lamela came into the match as the highest-priced player to ever come into the Premier League and not score a goal, but that unflattering moniker is now behind him. Manager Mauricio Pochettino went back to his attacking midfield trio of Lamela, Nacer Chadli and Christian Eriksen, moving forward Roberto Soldado to the bench, and Lamela surely stands to benefit if the Argentine manager sticks to the plan. Up next is a Boxing Day trip to face Leicester City.
