Olsson (shoulder) will not meet up with his Swedish teammates for the midweek friendly against Turkey. He will remain at Norwich so as the Canaries medical staff can keep an eye on his injured shoulder, according to the Eastern Daily Press.

Olsson will need shoulder surgery at the end of the season. Until then, Norwich are hopeful he can play out the remainder of the season, as they need every resource available in their battle against relegation.

Olsson played in a lively encounter against Germany in Stockholm on Tuesday, a game which the Swedes eventually lost 5-3. Olsson was on the score sheet a few days earlier, as Sweden beat Austria 2-1 to book themselves a World Cup playoff berth.

Olsson has scored more goals for his country than he has scored in his entire club career. It is good to know that he has an eye for the goal if he is ever pushed further up the pitch, but he is usually employed at left back when the Canaries take the field. So far this season he has only started in two league games, yet does have a goal to his name in the League Cup.

Olsson is an incredibly gifted defender who will surely be sold by a relegated Blackburn side. The Swedes have a lot of weapons, and if they put it together they could surprise some people in the Euros.

Olsson is doubtful to face West Brom Saturday due to a hamstring issue.

Hamstrings are very touchy injuries, and if he is still feeling some tightness it is likely that the team will continue to rest him.
