Clyne officially signed with Liverpool on Wednesday after transferring from Southampton.

Clyne was an excellent fantasy option last season, combining a relatively high number of crosses and clean sheets. He'll likely continue to be a highly sought-after fullback for fantasy purposes, though he may see a drop in shutouts moving to Anfield.

Liverpool have made an improved offer of 10.5 million for Clyne that has the potential to rise to 12.5 million.

Southampton rejected a 10 million bid last month but are reportedly preparing for life after Clyne, as fullback Cedric Soares has already been signed from Sporting Lisbon. It seems like only a matter of time at this point before the Saints receive the bid necessary to pry the 24-year-old away from St. Mary's.

Clyne must decide on his future by the end of the season, per a deadline set for him by Manager Ronald Koeman, according to BBC Sport.

"We are talking to Clyne and his agent. We can't wait until the end of the season," Koeman told BBC. "It's not like we need to know today or tomorrow but we are talking to them and we will try to do everything to keep the player but you need both parties for that." Koeman wants Clyne to stay, but if the Englishman does decide to leave, it sounds as if the club will be active in replacing him.

Clyne stated his desire to play in the Champions League on Monday, according to ESPN FC

"I see myself hopefully playing in the Champions League and competing for titles and trophies. That's what I'm aiming for. That's what you play football for, that's the dream. I would say that's the next step in my progression," the Southampton fullback said. Clyne's words came just hours after news broke that Manchester United intend to offer striker Javier Hernandez in a swap deal for the Englishman during the summer transfer window. It is beginning to look as if Clyne is willing to leave in pursuit of Champions League football if the Saints fail to qualify, although his deal still has a year left and the club intends to meet with his agent regarding an extension after the season.
