Alba (thigh) was forced off the pitch in the 9th minute during Wednesday's Champions League 4-0 match win over Manchester City, AS Sports reports.

Alba picked up an injury during international duty and Barcelona played him anyway despite the uncertainty about his fitness. He was then forced to come off and will now be looked over by the club's medical team to determine the severity of the muscle strain. Looking forward, Barcelona will be certain that he's fully fit before he returns to the pitch.

Alba (thigh) has been ruled out for about 10 days.

Alba withdrew from the Spain World Cup qualifiers squad after picking up the ailment during the draw to Italy on Thursday. The left back could be back for the Champions League clash with Manchester City but will certainly miss the La Liga match with Deportivo La Coruna. Lucas Digne could be the next man up to slot on the left back for the domestic match.

Alba and the Barcelona back line held Athletic scoreless in Sunday's 1-0 win. Alba finished with one successful tackle in a mostly quiet day.

Alba did his job on the left side and there are no questions about his role with the team. With Barcelona, any match could result in a clean sheet for them, especially with how Gerard Pique and Samuel Umtiti are playing in the middle.

Alba tallied an assist and kept a clean sheet in Friday's 3-0 victory over Turkey at the Euros.

The all-world left back helped put the final nail in Turkey's coffin, playing a fantastic ball (likely from an offside position) to Alvaro Morata for the third and final goal for Spain. The always-industrious fullback has been strong throughout the first two matches of the group stage, but will certainly face a step-up in quality against the physical and talented Croatian national team.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Alba and the Spain back line held Czech Republic scoreless in Monday's 1-0 win. Alba had some success on the left side, but it was mostly a possession war with Spain dominating that aspect, which will be the case in group stages.

Alba will have two more solid chances to pick up clean sheets in Spain's next two matches against Croatia and Turkey. However, due to Spain's dominance in possession, he won't have many opportunities to dispossess the opposition.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Alba has been named in Spain final 23-man squad for Euro 2016.

Alba will continue starting for La Furia at left back. He's the most experienced defender in the team after Sergio Ramos and Gerard Pique and with six international goals in 42 caps he brings a high fantasy upside. Alba finished last season with Barca with six assists, 17 clean sheets and 53 tackles in 31 La Liga appearances (29 starts).
