Gazzaniga could return to the bench for this weekend's match against Arsenal, with Maarten Stekelenburg set to return from his toe injury.

Gazzaniga has started the last two matches, and while Stekelenburg was the regular starter before the injury, manager Ronald Koeman did not specify Thursday who would start. While there is competition in the short term, Fraser Forster (knee) returned to full training this week and will slot into the No. 1 job as soon as he's match fit.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Gazzaniga made four saves and conceded a pair of goals in Saturday's loss to Tottenham.

The Argentine 'keeper was actually quite solid on the day, as he was only beaten on a breakaway by Harry Kane and a close-range tap in by Dele Alli. Gazzaniga continues to play well in the absences of Fraser Forster and Maarten Steklenburg, though the latter is expected back soon. It remains to be seen if Gazzaniga will be handed another start for the tough Boxing Day matchup against Arsenal.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Gazzaniga will start Saturday's match versus Tottenham.

The 23-year-old made his first appearance of the season last week against Crystal Palace, and he performed well despite the 1-0 defeat. Maarten Stecklenberg (toe) and Fraser Forster (knee) are still sidelined due to injuries, leaving Gazzaniga to fill in once again. He will face another tough test against Spurs, but Southampton will roll with him in goal nonetheless.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Gazzaniga made four saves and conceded once in a rare start in Saturday's 1-0 defeat to Crystal Palace.

A toe concern for Maarten Stekelenburg thrust Gazzaniga into the starting lineup for the first time in the Premier League this season. Gazzaniga has spent much of the season outside the squad or with the U21 side—where he's conceded seven goals in five matches with a clean sheet. However, he acquitted himself nicely in his first match of the season and could be in line for more run if Stekelenburg's injury proves to be more serious than expected.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Gazzaniga made a surprise start against Leicester City on Saturday, making just one save in a 2-0 defeat.

The Argentine has seen few appearances behind Kelvin Davis since first-choice 'keeper Fraser Forster went down, and will need to do much better if he wants to earn any extra playing time. Expect Davis to return to the lineup next week versus Aston Villa.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Gazzaniga is in the starting XI for Saturday's match against Cardiff City, as Artur Boruc is still out with a back injury.

Gazzaniga gave up four goals last weekend against Manchester City, but gets a much more promising clean sheet opportunity Saturday.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Gazzaniga is in the starting XI on Saturday against Manchester City, with Artur Boruc out with a back injury.

Gazzaniga has appeared in six games (five starts) this season, which also came in relief of an injured Boruc, including a 1-1 draw against Manchester City back on December 7. Nevertheless, playing at the Etihad today, he makes for a very weak fantasy option against one of the highest-scoring teams on their home turf.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Gazzaniga has signed a four-year contract with Southampton, The Telegraph reports.

The 20-year old joins newly promoted Southampton from League Two side Gillingham. The move will likely send Saints' goalkeeper Tommy Forecast to Gillingham on a season-long loan.
