Zusi (international duty) has rejoined Sporting Kansas City.

Zusi should be available for selection Saturday against the Dynamo after competing with the U.S. Men's National Team in the Gold Cup. He's expected to immediately rejoin the starting XI which will demote Jacob Peterson back to a role off the bench.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Zusi will leave Sporting KC following Saturday's game against Colorado to join the U.S. Men's National Team in preparation for the Gold Cup.

The exact length of Zusi's absence remains unclear since it's dependent on how far the U.S. advances in the tournament. Fellow forward Jacob Peterson could be in line to see unexpected time on the field for the majority of July as a result of Zusi's international obligations.

Zusi had a goal and two assists during Sporting KC's 4-0 win over FC Dallas on Friday.

Dallas were down to 10 men after just 43 minutes, which really opened things up for SKC in the second half. Zusi assisted on two of the first three goals until he scored the final tally in the 64th minute. Zusi returned to the starting lineup after missing time with a concussion, and given that he hasn't experienced any setbacks, his spot in the starting lineup is locked in once again.

Zusi is out Saturday against Colorado because of a concussion.

Zusi suffered the head injury last weekend against D.C. United, and he has not resumed training yet.

Zusi signed a long-term designated player contract with Sporting KC on Sautrday, the club's official web site reports.

Zusi is set to appear in his third consecutive All-Star game this season after a solid showing in Brazil during the World Cup for the United States. He has 18 goals and 40 assists in 144 MLS matches, including the postseason, and he has been named to the MLS Best XI in both of the last two seasons. There was some light talk about a potential move to Europe, but Zusi will instead opt to likely finish out his career in Major League Soccer.

Zusi assisted on Clint Dempsey's 81st minute goal in the United States' 2-2 draw with Portugal at the World Cup on Sunday.

Zusi has now picked up an assist in both of the US' matches in Brazil, after serving the corner that John Brooks knocked in against Ghana on Monday. Zusi looked a step slow for most of Sunday's match, but picked up the big assist that temporarily put the US up 2-1. The draw puts huge importance on Thursday's match against Germany, as a draw or a win will see them through to the knockout round.

Zusi's corner kick was headed home by John Brooks in the 86th minute of USA's 2-1 win over Ghana in their World Cup opener Monday.

Zusi didn't even enter the game until the 77th minute when he replaced Alejandro Bedoya, but his fresh legs were a welcome addition to a US side that seemed absolutely spent, especially after giving up an equalizer in the 82nd minute. Up next is a decent shot at another three points against a Portugal side that will be without two starting defenders.

Zusi opened the scoring for Sporting KC in Saturday's terrific 3-2 win over Colorado.

Zusi also assisted on Kansas City's winner in the 92nd minute. It looks like in his third game, Zusi has it going. The only thing to be weary about is how he'll react physically to being called in to the U.S. men's national team camp for this week's friendly with Mexico.
