Britton is expected to be sidelined for at least four more weeks due to his ongoing knee injury, the South Wales Evening Post reports.

Britton suffered a stress fracture in his knee during pre-season and has been effectively unable to train since. Manager Garry Monk said he thinks he'll be able to start training in roughly three weeks, which could get him match ready by four, although it wouldn't be surprising if he was limited early on.

Britton will at least miss the first game of the EPL season with a bruised bone in his knee, Swansea City's Official Site reports.

Britton will get his knee scanned in two weeks to determine if he'll have to miss more than just the opening contest against Manchester United on Aug. 16. His absence will open up a spot in the starting lineup, but it's still a bit early to determine who'll get the opportunity to step up into that role.
