Ramirez could miss Saturday's match at Aston Villa after picking up an ankle injury last weekend against Cardiff City, the club's official web site reports. "When Gaston came off on Saturday it was his other ankle that was injured so now he has both ankles to deal with," manager Mauricio Pochettino said Thursday.

Ramirez has two assists in his last four Premier League appearances, but with only one goal and one other assist this season, his fantasy value remains quite limited.

Ramirez had an X-ray on Saturday that revealed no fracture in his ankle, but the extent of ligament damage is not known yet, the Daily Mail reports. Initial indications are that Ramirez could miss up to four months of action.

Four months out would put his World Cup hopes in jeopardy, although with no specific reporting concerning the ligament damage, the Daily Mail seems to be simply speculating about that timetable.

Ramirez was taken to the hospital after suffering an ankle injury in Saturday's Premier League match against Sunderland, the Daily Mirror reports.

Replays showed Ramirez's ankle twisting in an awkward position following a brutal challenge from Wes Brown that somehow went unpunished. Manager Mauricio Pochettino said after the match that Ramirez was in significant pain, but they won't know the severity of the injury until scan are completed.
