West Ham have pulled out of a loan agreement for Niang, reports the Daily Mail.

Niang returned to Milan after his loan with Montpellier, and is also facing a suspended jail sentence for a hit-and-run accident from earlier this year. The player was a hot commodity just a year ago when he was on the transfer target lists of Everton, Tottenham, and Arsenal.

Niang netted Montpellier's first goal during its 3-1 win over Nice on Saturday.

Niang, currently on loan from AC Milan, scored in his Montpellier debut earlier this month and now sports two goals in four total appearances for the Ligue 1 side. The 19-year-old is gaining valuable playing time that the Italian club simply couldn't promise him for the remainder of this season, so credit Niang for taking advantage of his newfound situation.

Niang scored in the 68th minute of Montpellier's 1-1 draw with Monaco on Friday.

Niang's goal came after the 19-year-old missed a penalty-kick, but followed up his shot to draw his new French club level. On loan from AC Milan, Niang led Montpellier with three shots (all on goal) and may find himself more comfortable playing in Ligue 1, where his exploits at Caen two seasons ago garnered interest from some of Europe's top clubs.

Starting in January, Milan's Niang will be on loan to Montpellier FC for a six-month period. Montpellier has offered the young Frenchman plenty of time on the pitch in Ligue 1, Football Italia reports.

Niang will not be missed in most fantasy leagues. He has only started one game this season. He will have a chance to improve his form in France and make a strong return to San Siro at the loan's end.
