Weimann (illness) has overcome his ordeal with a stomach bug and will likely be available for Saturday's matchup against Chelsea, the International Business Times reports.

Weimann seems to be back at full strength and poised to start up front for the Villans. However, fellow forward Christian Benteke (Achilles) may be returning to the pitch as early as Oct. 4 against Manchester City and Weimann seems to be the likely odd man out. Despite his possible move to the bench in the coming weeks, the 33-year-old will still play a significant role in relief going forward this season.

Weimann was able to score the lone goal for Aston Villa during their opening week win against Stoke City on Saturday.

With injuries to Libor Kozak (leg) and Christian Benteke (Achilles), Weimann will play alongside Gabriel Agbonlahor up front. This duo possesses the best opportunity to score for the Villans until Kozak and Benteke return to the pitch.

Weimann has recorded one goal and one assist over the stretch of five friendlies this preseason.

Weimann seems like a viable candidate to start up front with Gabriel Agbonlahor this season since Libor Kozak (leg) and Christian Benteke (Achilles) won't be available until mid-October. However, he might have to split time on the pitch with veteran Darren Bent.

Weimann returned from a bout of dead leg to start and play all 90 minutes of Aston Villa's 1-4 loss to Manchester United on Saturday.

Weimann took only one shot in the match and extended his goalless streak to eight Premier League contests. While he does have three goals and four assists in 30 appearances this season, they are far too inconsistent to rely on in most fantasy leagues.
