Lallana (quad) is not in the 18-man lineup for Saturday's match against West Ham.

Lallana is currently dealing with an injury to his quad and Saturday will be the second match he misses due to the injury. He generally starts when healthy, but the recent addition of Roberto Firmino could force Lallana into a role off the bench come Sept. 12 against Manchester United.

Lallana registered five goals and three assists over the course of 27 Premier League appearances during the 2014-15 season.

Lallana had a solid term but he got lost in the mix of Liverpool's numerous offensive weapons. Five of his fellow midfielders saw more than his 1,789 minutes on the pitch but Lallana managed to make 23 starts and could even see an improvement on that number with the departure of Steven Gerrard and the potential loss of Raheem Sterling, both of which saw more minutes than Lallana last season.

Lallana took two unsuccessful shots and was booked for a yellow card in Sunday's 1-1 draw with Chelsea.

Lallana is often featured up front in manager Brendan Rodgers' lineup but has been struggling of late without a Premier League goal to his credit since Dec. 29 against Swansea City. Even so, the 26-year-old will be in search of this fifth goal of the season against Crystal Palace on Saturday.

Lallana took two unsuccessful shots before getting subbed off the pitch in the 68th minute of Saturday's 2-1 victory over QPR.

Lallana has 32 shots on 24 Premier League appearances this season with four goals to show for it. At times he gets overshadowed by his fellow teammates and is an unreliable option since he moves in and out of the starting XI. Nevertheless, he'll likely play a similar role against Chelsea on Sunday.

Lallana (groin) was subbed onto the pitch in the 75th minute of Saturday's 0-0 stalemate with West Brom.

This was Lallana's first appearance on the pitch in more than a month as manager Brendan Rodgers chose to give him limited minutes in his first match back. Liverpool has a short break as they face Hull City on Tuesday. As a result, it's unclear what Lallana's role will be since he's still getting over his groin injury.

Lallana (groin) is available off the bench Saturday against West Brom.

Lallana has missed more than a month due to the ailment, so it's unsurprising that he's not in the starting lineup in his return. Raheem Sterling will be in the midfield along with Jordon Ibe and Philippe Coutinho, with Mario Balotelli starting at striker.

Lallana said Thursday that he is recovered from his groin injury and is set to return Saturday against West Brom.

Lallana has been sidelined since suffering the injury March 22 against Manchester United, but he's been in full training this week, which will clear the way for his return. Given his lack of matches recently, plus his inconsistent spot in the starting XI, it wouldn't be surprising if he was simply available off the bench for Saturday's tie.

Lallana (groin) has yet to rejoin full team training and is unlikely to play in Sunday's FA Cup semifinal against Aston Villa, the Liverpool Echo reports.

Lallana has been dealing with the injury for the past month, and while he doesn't have a Premier League match this weekend anyway, he'll need to get back to training in order to face West Brom on April 25.
