Lallana got the start Sunday against Manchester United, but he was taken off in favor of Mario Balotelli at halftime after failing to register a single shot.

Lallana continues to battle through two cracked ribs, and while he didn't technically get a shot off Sunday, he was very active and it was quite surprising that he was taken off. His playing time continues to be very inconsistent, making him a tough fantasy option week-to-week.

Lallana missed Tuesday's Champions League match against FC Basel with two fractured ribs, but he is expected to be fit for Sunday's Premier League match against Manchester United, The Guardian reports.

Lallana reportedly suffered the injury against Leicester City nearly 10 days ago, but he will be given a chance to feature against United. He's been in-and-out of the starting XI this season, though he's shown solid play with Rickie Lambert of late, which could give him more playing time.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Lallana, starting for just the second time in Premier League play since Oct. 25, scored his second goal of the season during Tuesday's 3-1 win over Leicester City.

Lallana went completely unused in Liverpool's last two matches despite picking up a great assist on a Rickie Lambert goal against Crystal Palace on Nov. 23. Liverpool spent 25 million to bring Lallana over from Southampton this past summer, so it's been mystifying why his playing time is so inconsistent, but maybe Tuesday's goal will earn him a consistent starting spot heading into Saturday's home game against Sunderland.

Lallana played 65 minutes of Liverpool's 3-2 win over QPR on Sunday.

Lallana was replaced in the 65th minute by Philippe Coutinho, who eventually delivered a goal late on. Lallana looks to be a regular in the Reds starting XI, but could begin to loose minutes if any number of Liverpool's other attacking options catch a run of form.

Lallana scored in the 45th minute of Liverpool's 2-1 win over West Brom on Saturday, his first since transferring from Southampton this summer.

Lallana started off slowly due to a knee injury suffered during the preseason, but he's starting to carve out a solid attacking role, though it is unclear if his spot in the starting XI will be consistent once Daniel Sturridge returns from his thigh injury.

Lallana played the full 90 minutes in Liverpool's 1-1 draw with Everton on Saturday.

Lallana's role has increased steadily over the past few weeks as he returns to full fitness after starting the season sidelined with a knee injury. The English international does have some fantasy risk as his role in the starting XI isn't entirely certain; with Daniel Sturridge on the verge of returning it remains unclear how manager Brendan Rodgers intends to line up.

Lallana subbed on for Lucas at halftime but finished without taking a single shot in Liverpool's 3-1 Premier League loss at West Ham.

Lallana started both of Liverpool's matches since making his debut against Aston Villa on Sept. 13, but he has yet to play more than 66 minutes while he continues to gain full match fitness following a hamstring injury. It's still unclear what role Lallana will play, as the Liverpool midfield is quite crowded with a number of talented players.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Lallana got the start and lasted 61 minutes of Liverpool's 0-1 loss to Aston Villa on Saturday.

Lallana, although only managing two shots, looked lively before being subbed off. It's still a little unclear exactly where the English international fits into the crowded Liverpool midfield, due to manager Brendan Rodgers electing to leave Raheem Sterling on the bench while Lazar Markovic and Philip Coutinho got starts. Regardless of his position, Lallana is expected to rack up the minutes and benefit from the high octane Liverpool approach.
