Schurrle had a game-high six shots during Chelsea's 2-0 win over Leicester on Saturday, although none landed on goal.

Schurrle has started both of Chelsea's Premier League matches this season and seems to be ahead of Willian on the depth chart. He is very active on the attack and could be a solid fantasy producer if he continues to be in the starting XI. With Chelsea collecting six points in their first two matches, it's tough to see why manager Jose Mourinho would make a switch now.

Schurrle scored in the 21st minute of Chelsea's 3-1 win over Burnley on Monday.

Manager Jose Mourinho speculated last weekend that Schurrle would be held out after winning the World Cup with Germany, but there was Schurrle in the starting XI come Monday. He took a beautiful chip from Cesc Fabregas to put Chelsea ahead for good, and while he could get pressure from Willian for playing time, Schurrle has shown an ability to perform in limited time.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Schurrle is in the starting XI for Chelsea's Premier League opener against Burnley on Monday.

Manager Jose Mourinho previously indicated that he was going to hold out his players who made it at least to the quarterfinals of the World Cup, which included Schurrle, Eden Hazard, Thiabut Courtois, and Oscar, but each one of them is starting Monday. Schurrle has the ability to make a difference in fantasy leagues, but he's always been plagued by inconsistent playing time.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Schurrle is expected to be held out of Chelsea's Premier League opener Monday against Burnley, ESPN FC reports.

Schurrle was with Germany as they hoisted the World Cup and he has only recently returned to training. He isn't likely a regular starter for manager Jose Mourinho anyway, although he has shown an ability to produce off the bench. It just won't happen until Gameweek 2 at the earliest.

Atletico Madrid has opened talks with Chelsea about a possible transfer of Schurrle, reports the Daily Mail.

Schurrle joined Chelsea last summer, but did not secure a regular starting position in the side. Atletico are hoping to inspire Chelsea to action on the deal.

Schurrle returned to light team training Monday following time off after the World Cup.

A majority of the team got the day off following Sunday's friendly against Werder Bremen, which Schurrle did not travel for, but there should be a full team session Tuesday. Schurrle has shown an ability to contribute it minimal time on the pitch, although he is not expected to crack the regular starting rotation this season.

Schurrle scored in the 69th and 79th minutes of Germany's 7-1 win over Brazil in the semifinal of the World Cup on Tuesday.

The match was essentially decided by the time Schurrle came in for Miroslav Klose, as the Germans led 5-0 before his brace. Schurrle has been a solid contributor off the bench in the tournament and he could very well play the same role for Chelsea next season.

Schurrle notched a goal and an assist in Chelsea's 6-0 demolition of Arsenal on Saturday.

Schurrle has been in excellent form of late, scoring four goals, while assisting on another in his last three Premier League starts. With Samuel Eto'o suffering a hamstring injury early in Saturday's match, Schurrle could stay in the starting XI for next weekend's match at Crystal Palace.
