Schurrle (knee) is not in the 18-man squad to face Wolfsburg on Tuesday.

Schurrle was doubtful to play after suffering the injury a few weeks ago, and he'll now miss his second consecutive league fixture.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Schurrle has not yet trained with the team after suffering damage to his knee ligaments in matchweek 2 against RB Leipzig and could miss Tuesday's match against Wolfsburg, according to manager Thomas Tuchel.

Schurrle was forced to sit out Borussia Dortmund's match last weekend against Darmstadt, although he was hardly needed as his side won by a wide 6-0 margin. Prior to last weekend, he played the full 90 minutes in Borussia Dortmund's first two matches, though he may not be able to take the pitch again until after Tuesday's contest against his former club, Wolfsburg. Borussia Dortmund have plenty of depth in the midfield, although Wolfsburg have not conceded a goal yet this campaign. While they may seem overdue to give up a score, it may be wise for fantasy owners to look to more favorable matchups for a midfielder.

Schurrle took four shots, completed five dribbles, and attempted three corners in Saturday's 1-0 loss to RB Leipzig.

Schurrle started on the left-wing but was unable to find the scoresheet in the match. He had Dortmund's two best chances, with the most dangerous chance coming in the 82nd minute when he hit the crossbar. Schurrle will hope to find the score sheet next time out 14 September against Legia Warsaw.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Schurrle took seven shots, with three on target, and assisted on Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's opener during Saturday's 2-1 win over Mainz.

Schurrle was inserted right into the starting lineup in his debut for Dortmund, which was more than fellow new-signee Mario Gotze got. The Dortmund attacking midfield is filled with talent, but Schurrle likely has a solidified spot in the starting lineup for most league matches, giving him very solid fantasy value.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Schurrle signed a five-year contract with Borussia Dortmund on Friday after transferring from VfL Wolfsburg.

Schurrle resurrected his career with Wolfsburg last season, following his struggles with Chelsea, and he'll now be a part of the remake of the Dortmund attack after Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Ilkay Gundogan left for the Premier League.

Schurrle made three appearances off the bench for Germany during Euro 2016, tallying two shots off target and five crosses. He improves his international record to 55 caps and 20 goals. Germany were knocked out in the semifinals after a 2-0 defeat by France.

Schurrle was heavily involved in action for Wolfsburg last season, though, he wasn't able to maintain a regular starting role. Regardless of limited playing time, though, the 25-year-old versatile offensive weapon had a very prolific season finishing with nine goals, three assists and 2.4 shots per game in 29 Bundesliga appearances (21 starts).

Schurrle attempted two shots and scored a late goal in Saturday’s 5-1 loss to Borussia Dortmund.

Schurrle’s late goal Saturday was barely even a consolation for the Wolves, who are in a tailspin and haven’t won a match in the Bundesliga in nearly two months. Schurrle does have three goals in Bundesliga matches during that time and remains one of the only Wolfsburg players worth considering for fantasy owners at this point. Wolfsburg plays away at Hamburger SV next Saturday in a match that could flip the two sides in the table should Wolfsburg pick up their fourth consecutive Bundesliga loss.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Schurrle said that Wolfsburg will play at "100 million percent" as they try to protect their two-goal aggregate lead in Spain against Real Madrid, reports the Daily Mail.

Wolfsburg shocked Madrid in the first leg with strong defense to hold on to a two-goal lead, but Schurrle admitted that Madrid will be difficult to stop at their home in Spain. This is the first time the German side has competed in the quarterfinals of the UCL competition.
