Fernandinho had one goal on two shots and won two headers in Wednesday’s 3-3 Champions League group match against Celtic.

Fernandinho held the offside line well as Aleksandar Kolarov took a shot from 22 yards out that was deflected by Celtic’s back line. The ball landed at Fernandinho’s feet who easily found the net for the early equaliser. This is Fernandinho’s first goal since the end of August against West Ham. The defensive Midfielder’s next Premier League match is Sunday against Tottenham.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Fernandinho scored a goal on one shot (one on target) and picked up a yellow card in Sunday's 3-1 victory over West Ham.

The holding midfielder hadn't scored in the Premier League in 365 days (Aug. 29 of last year against Watford), but calmly headed in his first of the season to double City's advantage. The 31-year-old looked to be on the outside, looking in on the starting XI as manager Pep Guardiola's system doesn't have a natural fit for the Brazilian, but so far, he's adapted nicely. No stranger to mixing it up, he served a one-match ban for yellow card accumulation last season, picking up nine in FA play, but hasn't been sent off since Nov. 5, 2014 in the Champions League.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Fernandinho could be deployed as a centreback this season, the Manchester Evening News reports.

New manager Pep Guardiola's system doesn't suit Fernandinho well for a role in midfield, but he intimated that the Brazilian could be used in a more defensive role, which would certainly enhance his fantasy prospects in formats that use defensive peripheral stats.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Fernandinho tallied an assist and was issued a yellow card in Sunday's 2-2 draw with Arsenal.

The holding midfielder has found his name on the scoresheet twice in the past four matches after not tallying an assist prior to that since Oct. 3, 2015. Days past his 31st birthday, he's shown good durability, playing in 49 matches across all comps to this point; however, with Pep Guardiola coming in next season, City is due for a major roster overhaul, which could leave the Brazilian in the lurch.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Fernandinho took a shot off the post and made one dribble and three fouls in the Saturday's 4-0 win over Bournemouth.

Fernandinho was very close to putting his name on the scoreboard but woodwork prevented that from happening. The midfielder is putting together a very solid campaign. Multiple injuries in City midfield throughout the whole season have allowed him to register 28 appearances in which he's scored two goals and one assist. With that being said, though, his holding midfield role and six yellow cards are limiting his fantasy upside.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Fernandinho (hamstring) is available off the bench Saturday against West Ham.

Fernandinho has missed the last two Premier League matches due to the injury, and while he's fit enough for the bench, he makes for a weak fantasy option as Fabian Delph starts ahead of him.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Fernandinho (hamstring) is available for Saturday's match against West Ham.

The central midfielder has missed the past two matches thanks to a hamstring concern, but has worked out with the squad and is available for selection. While it's unclear as to whether he can go for the full-90 or if he will start, his return is a boon to City, who have been struck with a plethora of injuries, will welcome back their first-choice holding midfielder.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Fernandinho (hamstring) is out against Crystal Palace on Saturday.

The central midfielder has missed the past two matches as he works through this injury. Manager Manuel Pellegrini did not give a timetable for his return, but he could be back as early as next week when City takes on West Ham.
