Fernandinho tallied an assist and was issued a yellow card in Saturday's 6-1 victory over Newcastle.

Fernandinho took a little while to warm up to the gameólike many of his teammatesóbut once he did, he was excellent. The 30-year-old Brazilian has two goals and an assist this season. Discipline could soon be a problem as he's picked up four yellow cards in eight matches and is one away from a suspension.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Fernandinho scored a goal on his only shot attempt and picked up a yellow card in Sunday's 3-0 victory over Chelsea.

Fernandinho was cautioned for a tough challenge on Diego Costa in the waning minutes of the first half, but acquitted himself nicely, scoring the third goal of the match for City. Known more for providing a physical presence in the middle of the park than being a goal scoring threat, the goal was certainly a boon to owners of the 30-year-old, though this isn't necessarily indicative of a big scoring year for the Brazilian.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Fernandinho is starting Monday against West Brom.

There was a thought that Fernandinho would be available off the bench after his late start to preseason training following the Copa America, but he'll slot right in, with Fabian Delph out with a hamstring injury and Fernando not in the 18-man squad.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Fernandinho has been declared fit for Monday's game against West Brom, but he may be rested after a delayed start to preseason following the Copa America.

Fernandinho plays mostly as a holding midfielder, so his fantasy value is pretty limited in most formats. Additionally, he'll have to compete for playing time with Fernando and new addition Fabian Delph (hamstring).

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Fernandinho will not play in the season opener Aug. 10 against West Brom after participating in Copa America, according to Stu Brennan of the Manchester Evening News.

Fernandinho doesn't hold a lot of fantasy value in many formats because he plays so defensively, but he's a regular starter when he's fit. Fernando will likely take his spot in the starting XI for the opener, and if Fernandinho only misses the first game, he could debut Aug. 16 against Chelsea.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Fernandinho came on for Yaya Toure at halftime and scored in the 89th minute of Manchester City's 3-2 win over Aston Villa on Saturday.

Fernandinho, who usually plays a much more defensive role, scored on his only shot of the game. He came on for Toure at halftime due to a hamstring injury, and if Toure has to miss next weekend's match against Spurs, Fernandinho could get the start.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Fernandinho scored on his only shot attempt during Manchester City's 1-1 draw with Everton on Saturday.

Fernandinho got the start next to Fernando in place of Yaya Toure, who is away at the Africa Cup of Nations, and he scored for the second time in his last three Premier League starts. He'll likely continue to start while Toure is gone, though he still primarily plays as a defensive midfielder.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Fernandinho scored on a 25-yard curler on his only shot during Manchester City's 2-2 draw with Burnley on Sunday.

Fernandinho got the start next to Fernando, as Yaya Toure was rested with a slight groin injury, and his goal looked like one that could have come off the foot of the Ivorian. Ferhandinho has shown an ability to play effectively in the attack, though his fantasy upside remains limited to leagues that include peripheral stats.
