Cornelius came to Cardiff City with high expectations of helping the Bluebirds attack. However, due to injuries and the inability to adjust to the Premier League style of play, he was limited to few minutes in just eight Premier League appearances.

Cornelius came on after half time Thursday and played 45 minutes of Cardiff City's 0-3 loss to Southampton. The striker was off target with his one shot attempt as the Bluebird attack struggled all match.

The 45 minutes were the most Cornelius has played in a match all season. He has made appearances in the two straight matches and now has three shot attempts on the season. Until he gets more playing time, his fantasy value will remain low.

Cornelius came on in the 79th minute Saturday during Cardiff City's 3-1 loss to Liverpool.

Cornelius has made four Premier League appearances since returning from an ankle injury that forced him to miss most of the first half of the season. With just two shots on the season, he has little fantasy value until he can earn more time on the pitch.

Cornelius was described by manager Malky Mackay in an interview with The Mirror as "needing more time". The Cardiff City manager insists, "He is here for the long-term. It's about developing his awareness with the first-team."

Cornelius suffered an unfortunate setback when he injured his ankle during training before the Premier League season began and has been playing catch up ever since. He has proven the ability to score goals in the Danish Superliga and should continue to see more match time as the season progresses.

Cornelius returned to action after missing almost three months of action due to an ankle injury. He came on in the 83rd minute and managed a shot on target in his brief return.

This was just the second Premier League appearance for Cornelius since signing with Cardiff City in the summer. The striker is hopeful to feature more Saturday when the Bluebirds host Arsenal.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Cornelius made it through Cardiff City's mid-week friendly against Yeovil Town with no issues and says that he is healthy enough to return to the lineup Sunday when Cardiff City host Manchester United, the South Wales Echo reports. If Cornelius is able to play, it would only be his second appearance in a Premier League match this season.

Cornelius was signed in the offseason from FC Copenhagen and was brought to Cardiff City to be a major part of the Bluebird's attack. He managed to score 18 goals in 32 appearances last season in the Danish Superliga. An ankle injury in the pre-season has kept him off the pitch for a majority of the 2013-14 season, but when healthy Cornelius will have an opportunity to provide good fantasy value. He would have a tough matchup against Manchester United, but could play a major role in Cardiff City's fight to remain in the Premier League.

Cornelius (ankle) has returned to full training and is expected to play around 60 minutes in a mid-week friendly for Cardiff City, the South Wales Echo reports. There is hope that he could return to Premier League action when play resumes after the international break.

Cornelius has appeared in just one Premier League match for Cardiff City since joining the club in the summer. If healthy, Cornelius could be a main piece of the Bluebirds attack. He scored 18 goals in 32 appearances last season in the Danish Superliga for FC Copenhagen and was just awarded Superliga Player of the Year honors.
