Bender broke his left wrist in Saturdayís match against Borussia Monchengladbach and will miss the season finale match this Saturday against Ingolstadt 04, the club reports.

Bender has missed a majority of Bayer Leverkusenís matches this season due to injury but has still managed to lead the team in tackles per game and register the second most interceptions per game. Bender will have plenty of competitive football to look forward to next season, as Bayer Leverkusen will compete in the Champions League and certainly will be a force in the Bundesliga.

Bender scored a goal in Saturdayís 2-1 win over Hertha Berlin.

The German midfielder put in a great performance in Saturdayís win, scoring his first Bundesliga goal this season and the teamís second goal of the day off of a Hakan Calhanoglu free kick. He played well in defense too, making four tackles, two interceptions, and three clearances. All in all, it was an encouraging performance for Bender, who will look to finish his season strong in the last two matches after missing most of the season due to an ankle injury. Bayer Leverkusen plays away at Borussia Monchengladbach this Saturday.

Bender is back in the squad ahead of Bayer Leverkusenís match against Wolfsburg on Friday, according to manager Roger Schmidt.

Bender was able to train without any issues but is still not fully fit. Therefore, he will likely see limited playing time, if any, after being sidelined since October with an ankle injury. Before he went down with injury, Bender started seven Bundesliga matches and notched one assist. Fantasy owners should continue to monitor his return to match fitness before putting the Werkself captain in their lineups.

Bender is scheduled to undergo ankle surgery Tuesday and will be out until 2016, reports.

Bender has not played since making a substitute appearance during a German Cup match back on Oct. 28, though his absence isn't likely to affect too many fantasy rosters given that he plays as a defensive midfielder.

Bender produced a typical captain's performance as he and Leverkusen impressed in a 3-1 victory Wednesday against Benfica in Champions League Group C.

Bender was seemingly everywhere as Leverkusen dominated last season's Primeira Liga champions. Defensively he was very solid, was unlucky to hit the post early on and was involved in good build-up play to Heung-Min Son's goal. Bender was eventually substituted to make room for defender Giulio Donati in the 82nd minute with the game all but won.

Bender suffered a thigh injury during training with the German national team Thursday and he will miss the World Cup, reports.

No replacement has been determined yet, but it's certainly a blow for the Bayer Leverkusen midfielder. Bender had three goals and one assist in 28 Bundesliga matches this season.

Bender signed a new contract with Bayer Leverkusen that will keep him at the club until 2019, reports.

Bender has been linked to a number of clubs, most recently to Arsenal this past July. However, he has seemingly ended speculation about a move thanks to his new deal. The midfielder has one goal and no assists through seven Bundesliga matches this season.

Bender was the recent subject of a £18.5 million offer from Arsenal, the Guardian reports.

Bender, a 24-year-old defensive midfielder, totaled three goals and six assists in Bundesliga play last season, but Leverkusen insist he is not for sale, forcing Arsenal to look elsewhere to fill their midfield need.
