Deulofeu could miss the start of the season because of a hamstring injury suffered in training, the Daily Mail reports.

Deulofeu dealt with hamstring injuries two seasons ago when he spent the year on loan from Barcelona, and his permanent stint with the club is off to a poor start. It is believed to be a Grade 2 tear, which could sideline him up to six weeks.

Deulofeu returns to Barcelona after being recalled by the club from Everton, reports Sky Sports. Everton tried to retain the young midfielder after he scored three goals and assisted on three more while on loan with the Toffees.

Deulofeu was able to produce some decent statistics despite spending the majority of the season as a substitute. It will be interesting to see where he fits in with Barcelona as he has mainly spent time with the club's B-side.

Deulofeu came on for Steven Naismith in the 73rd minute of Sunday's 0-1 loss to Tottenham.

Deulofeu failed to register a shot in his first match since injuring his hamstring in mid-December. With the way the Everton attack has struggled with Romelu Lukaku (ankle) out injured, Deulofeu could be given more playing time to put shots on goal.

Deulofeu, who has been back with parent club Barcelona after suffering a hamstring injury in December, will return to Everton this weekend and should be available to play Tottenham on February 9.

There was a small bit of speculation that the 19-year old could return for Tuesday's Merseyside derby, but not only will he miss that contest, he'll also sit out Saturday's match against Aston Villa. Nevertheless, he'll be a welcome boost when he does return, as Deulofeu scored two goals and assisted on a third in his three matches prior to suffering his injury.
