Deulofeu (knee) will be sidelined against Sunderland on Wednesday, but has not been ruled out for the league final Sunday.

Despite initial reports indicating Deulofeu would be out the remainder of the season, manager Roberto Martinez indicated he was possible for a Sunday return if he can pass a late fitness test. The speedy winger has not featured much of late, just one of the many complaints supporters are currently heaping onto the manager. Given his aggressive style of play and willingness to push the pace, Evertonians are ever eager to see Deulofeu on the field.

Deulofeu will not play again this season because of a knee injury suffered in training, the Liverpool Echo reports.

Manager Roberto Martinez specified that Deulofeu suffered a Grade 1 MCL tear, and while he does not require surgery, there club has no reason to rush him back. Deulofeu hasn't been getting many regular starts anyway, so his absence isn't going to shake up the lineup too much.

The 21-year-old Spaniard hasn't been much of a goal scorer this season, but this match was no normal fixture. With seven total goals between the two sides, Deulofeu was able to tap in for Everton's third goal. He now has two goals and eight assists in 17 Premier League matches and four goals and 11 assists in 21 matches across all competitions.
