Deulofeu (hamstring) is available off the bench Saturday against Southampton.

Deulofeu is expected to move into the starting lineup once he gets his match fitness up, but he's only good enough for the best Saturday in his first Premier League match for Everton since the 2013-14 season when he was on loan from Barcelona.

Deulofeu (hamstring) could make his season debut Saturday against Southampton.

Deulofeu missed the opener last weekend against Watford, but he returned to full training Wednesday and looks likely to at least be available off the bench. He was very solid for Everton two seasons ago on loan from Barcelona, and he is expected to get plenty of playing time after the Toffees brought him in on a permanent move this summer.

Deulofeu (hamstring) is not in the 18-man squad to face Watford on Saturday.

Deulofeu seemed like a long shot to be available anyway, and his next opportunity will come next Saturday at Southampton.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Deulofeu (hamstring) could be available for Saturday's match against Watford, manager Roberto Martinez said Thursday.

Deulofeu was believed to be a real long shot to play the opener because of his injury, which sapped him of solid training over the past few weeks, and even if he is fit to be available, it would be surprising to see him start and play 90 minutes. In all likelihood, he'll make his debut in the starting lineup the following Saturday against Southampton.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Deulofeu is unlikely to play in Everton's Premier League opener against Watford on Saturday because of his hamstring injury, The Guardian reports. Hes already working at 60%, so I dont expect him to be too far away," manager Roberto Martinez said. "Maybe the weekend will be too early for him.

Deulofeu always seemed like a long shot to start the season on time after suffering the injury during the Asia Trophy in Singapore last month. However, once he's fully fit, Deulofeu is expected to get more starts than games on the bench, and he's a solid attacking option for the Toffees.

Deulofeu could miss the start of the season because of a hamstring injury suffered in training, the Daily Mail reports.

Deulofeu dealt with hamstring injuries two seasons ago when he spent the year on loan from Barcelona, and his permanent stint with the club is off to a poor start. It is believed to be a Grade 2 tear, which could sideline him up to six weeks.

Deulofeu has been loaned to Sevilla for the upcoming La Liga season, The Guardian reports.

Deulofeu spent last season on loan at Everton, but with Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar all ahead of him on the depth chart at Barcelona, he is being sent to Sevilla to get significantly more first-team football.

Deulofeu returns to Barcelona after being recalled by the club from Everton, reports Sky Sports. Everton tried to retain the young midfielder after he scored three goals and assisted on three more while on loan with the Toffees.

Deulofeu was able to produce some decent statistics despite spending the majority of the season as a substitute. It will be interesting to see where he fits in with Barcelona as he has mainly spent time with the club's B-side.
