Capoue was able to net the only goal for Spurs in the 5-1 drubbing by Manchester City on Wednesday.

Capoue was the one bright spot in a day of horrors. This was his first goal this season and it could be a sign of things to come. With the midfield struggling a bit, don't be surprised to see Capoue get more first team action and possibly contribute to some more goals and assists ion upcoming fixtures.

Capoue will be available for selection for Sunday's Premier League tilt with Manchester City.

Capoue hasn't made a Premier League appearance since September 1 when he injured his ankle against Arsenal. He did play against FC Sheriff in a Europa League match back on November 7, so he does at least have one match under his belt heading into Sunday's clash.

Capoue started last Thursday's Europa League match against Sheriff Tiraspol but was subbed off for Paulinho in the 57th minute.

The action was Capoue's first since injuring his ankle back on September 1 against Arsenal. While it's good to see him back on the pitch, he'll likely have to get a few more appearances under his belt before he plays a full 90.

Capoue (ankle) remains sidelined but is expected to return after the next international break.

Capoue initially went down during Tottenham's Premier League match against Arsenal on September 1 and was described to be out for four weeks. This weekend will be just that time, so it appears his return will take a little longer than expected. Tottenham's first match after the international break will be October 20 against Aston Villa, which implies he will also miss their match against West Ham on October 6.

Capoue came off after 72 minutes in Sunday's match and an MRI on Monday revealed the ankle sprain. It's a bit of a hit to Tottenham, although with the international break coming up, it's possible he'll only miss one or two Premier League matches.

Capoue could see some immediate playing time with Jan Vertonghen and Younes Kaboul still battling back from injuries. He scored seven goals in 34 matches last year for Toulouse.
