Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho said Monday that he is still unsure if Costa (hamstring) will be able to play Wednesday at Leicester City. "I don't know about Diego Costa," Mourinho said. "I have to think if it deserves a gamble or if we wait a few more days to be completely sure. If it was a player without an injury history I would play him tomorrow, but because he is a player with a history I have to think about that."

Costa re-injured his hamstring earlier this month and was expected back for the final four matches of the season. Wednesday's tie is one before that mark, and with Chelsea needing just six points out of their last five matches, there appears to be little reason for Costa to be rushed back.

Costa will not play against Arsenal on Sunday because of a lingering hamstring injury, according to Daily Mail.

The Spain international underwent a late fitness test on Saturday, but was deemed unready to return by the team physicians. With fellow striker Loic Remy will also set to miss out due to injury, Didier Drogba will be the only healthy striker in the squad for this weekend's match.

Costa will be assessed Saturday to determine if he is fit enough to face Arsenal on Sunday, manager Jose Mourinho said Friday. "If not for Arsenal, then (he will be back) for Leicester (on Wednesday)," Mourinho said.

Loic Remy has already been ruled out because of his calf injury, which likely leaves Didier Drogba to start again after recovering from an ankle injury. If Costa cannot pass fit, Dominic Solanke will likely be available off the bench.

Manager Jose Mourino said Friday that Costa may return from his hamstring injury to face Arsenal on April 26. "He is progressing very well," Mourinho said. "I think he has a chance for next weekend. As I have said our target is for Diego to play the last four matches, and Arsenal is the sixth match before the end, so if he doesnít play against Arsenal or Leicester itís not a problem because our focus was on four, but things are going so well that we think he has a chance to play next weekend."

Costa aggravated a previous hamstring injury April 4 against Stoke City and was expected to miss numerous weeks. Given that he re-injured himself after possibly returning too soon, it would not be surprising if he wasn't rushed back before the initial timetable. If he does return for the last four matches, he'll get back May 3 against Crystal Palace.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho said Friday that he expects Costa (hamstring) to be available for the final four games of the season.

Given that timetable, Costa will miss four Premier League matches due to the injury, including huge ones against Manchester United and Arsenal. Loic Remy is expected to get most of the playing time in Costa's place, with Didier Drogba also getting an increase.

Costa will be sidelined for multiple weeks after aggravating a previous hamstring injury during Saturday's match against Stoke City. "It's too early. He has to go home , wait 48 hours and do all the scans again," manager Jose Mourinho said after the match. "He will be out for sure for a couple of weeks. We have seven weeks and eight matches until the end of the season, so for sure for half of it he has to be with us."

Costa was held out over the international break because of the ailment, but manager Jose Mourinho said he tested out at 100 percent with the medical staff and trained fully the last two days. Nevertheless, it's a costly injury for Chelsea despite their relatively large lead at the top of the Premier League table. Loic Remy and Didier Drogba will see an increase in playing time while Costa is sidelined.

Costa re-injured his hamstring in the second half of Saturday's match against Stoke City.

Costa grabbed his hamstring after sliding and was immediately removed from the match. He came on at halftime for Oscar, but it looks likely that he'll miss time now. Loic Remy and Didier Drogba will get more playing time in Costa's absence.
