Costa bagged a hat trick in Chelsea's 4-2 win over Swansea City on Saturday.

Despite a question mark coming into the match due to a hamstring injury suffered over the international break, Costa was magnificent yet again, increasing his season goal-total to seven in four matches. Costa's continued sterling play will need to continue, with Chelsea visiting Manchester City next Sunday.

Costa (hamstring) made the starting XI for Saturday's game against Swansea.

Costa was a game-time decision for manager Jose Mourinho for the second Premier League match day in a row and fantasy managers that left him out will be cursing their luck after the Spaniard made the starting lineup.

Costa picked up a hamstring injury while on international duty, but manager Jose Mourinho said Friday that he may be able to play Saturday against Swansea City. "As you know, Diego Costa came back injured, but that was last Saturday so we've had one week to work hard with the medical department," Mourinho said. "He has a chance to play (Saturday)."

Costa was questionable to face Everton ahead of the international break and went on to score a brace, so while Mourinho is a master of not saying much in a lot of words, Costa certainly hasn't been ruled out against the Swans. If he's unable to start, Loic Remy is likely to assume that role.

Costa suffered a hamstring injury while on international duty and he has been sent back to London for further tests with Chelsea, according to AS.

Costa will likely undergo additional scans in London to determine the extent of the injury but he has just over a week to recover for Chelsea's next Premier League match, which comes Sept. 13 against Swansea City. If he is unable to start, Loic Remy could make his first appearance in the starting XI for Chelsea.

Costa, who was questionable to play due to a hamstring injury, netted twice during Chelsea's 6-3 win over Everton on Saturday.

Costa bookended the scoring at Goodison Park, scoring in less than one minute from the start, and then finishing the last in the 90th minute. He now has four goals in three matches and will return home to face a surprisingly good Swansea City after the international break.

Costa faces a late fitness test ahead of Saturday's Premier League match against Everton after picking up a hamstring injury in training this week. Manager Jose Mourinho said "We are trying everything for him to play tomorrow. He didn't train for the last two days, but today is the last day and we must make a decision to select him or not. He has to try a light training session to see if the reaction is positive. If it is we take him to Everton to play or be on the bench; if the reaction is not positive today then obviously we don't select him. Let's see."

It's clear that Costa is going to be limited in the match if he's able to play, so it's tough to expect a big performance. With Fernando Torres being sent to AC Milan Friday on a two-year loan deal, Didier Drogba is the only true striker to replace Costa, although Mourinho played Andre Schurrle in that role a few times last season.

Costa suffered a hamstring injury in training Wednesday, though the severity of the injury has yet to be determined, The Guardian reports.

The 25-year-old striker has enjoyed a fine start to his Chelsea career, scoring in each of the team's first two league matches, so manager Jose Mourinho, as well as Costa's fantasy owners, will be hoping the injury isn't severe. More on the extent of the issue should be known soon, with the Blues facing a tough trip to Goodison Park to do battle with Everton on Saturday.

Costa scored in the 62nd minute of Chelsea's 2-0 win over Leicester on Saturday.

Costa has now scored in both of his Premier League appearances for Chelsea, and looks worth every bit of the 32 million they paid for him this summer. Up next is a tough trip to Goodison Park, although Everton have given up four goals in their two matches this season, including two at home to Arsenal on Saturday.
