Aubameyang came on as a 68th minute substitute but did little to affect the game as Dortmund lost 2-1 Saturday to FC Köln.

Aubameyang was dropped to the bench despite numerous good performances this season, probably down to Jürgen Klopp's eagerness to give a host of returning stars a run-out. It was a shame for Aubameyang who had scored a brace for Gabon in the week and would have been looking to extend his scoring streak. He replaced Henrikh Mkhitaryan after 68 minutes but struggled to get involved, managing no shots or crosses in his appearance.

Aubameyang scored both goals Sunday as Gabon beat Burkina Faso 2-0 in African Cup Of Nations Qualifying Group C.

Aubameyang who has scored three league goals in seven for Dortmund this year, carried his decent form onto the international stage. First he netted in the 67th following a defensive mistake and soon added a second in the 74th. The win and the performance will do Aubameyang's confidence a world of good as he returns to action with Dortmund at the weekend.

Aubameyang struggled to carve open any real chances as Dortmund fell to a 1-0 loss Saturday to Hamburg.

Unlike most of the games this season, Aubameyang struggled to use his pace effectively against the opposition defence. Hamburg pressed well and throttled the forward who found it difficult to make runs down the wing. He had a couple of half chances, not quite getting his head on the end of a Sokratis Papastathopoulos assist and had a shot saved late on by the legs of visiting goalkeeper Jaroslav Drobný. All in all, like much of his team, Aubameyang was out-fought by determined opposition.

Aubameyang got one assist but also missed a glorious chance as Dortmund defeated Anderlect 3-0 Wednesday in Champions League Group D.

Aubameyang was his usual energetic, influential self. The winger made several incisive runs, his pace created major problems for the Anderlecht defence and his efforts were rewarded as he assisted Adrian Ramos for Dortmund's third goal. However he also missed a massive chance for the away side when blazing wide from a Kevin Grosskreutz pass and was caught needlessly offside thus ruling out a goal when Grosskreutz netted. A typically mixed bag for Aubameyang whose involvement in so much of Dortmund's attacking play this season will be sure to produce plenty of goals and assists.

Aubameyang was on target and a continuous attacking threat but could not prevent Dortmund falling to a 2-1 loss Saturday against rivals Schalke.

The winger really seems to be coming good in his second season after a mixed debut campaign. The former Saint Etienne man has now scored three goals in six games which is impressive for someone who is not played as an out-and-out striker. He finished his chance expertly for his goal and his speed was a constant threat on the counter attack. The rest of the Dortmund team will need to perform to his level to turn the team's slump around, expect Aubameyang's name to be one of the first on the team sheet for the foreseeable future.

Aubameyang scored one and put in a lively performance Wednesday as Dortmund clawed themselves back from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Stuttgart.

Aubameyang put in a typically high-energy display which helped Dortmund salvage a point from a dire situation. Using his blistering pace, he posed a constant threat on the break and put some much needed vigour into a sluggish Dortmund front-line. He finished well for his team's first goal, rounding the goalkeeper before slotting into an empty net with composure. Apart from the goal and heading a cross just wide in the first half, there were few chances to come by often owing to the team lacking cutting edge in midfield. Expect to see him continue up front in the weekend's clash with local rivals Schalke.

Aubameyang scored in the 48th minute of Borussia Dortmund's 2-0 Champions League victory over Arsenal on Tuesday.

Aubameyang now has goals in back-to-back matches after scoring as a sub in Dortmund's 3-1 Bundesliga win over SC Freiburg on Saturday. He started up front with Ciro Immobile on Tuesday, but Adrian Ramos also figures to get in on the action on a regular basis.

Aubameyang scored on a fine header in Wednesday's 2-0 triumph over Bayern Munich in the German Super Cup.

Aubameyang had a successful first season with Dortmund in 2013-14, netting 13 goals in 27 league appearances. Blessed with outstanding pace and the ability to play as either a striker or on the wing, Aubameyang should be a big part of manager Jürgen Klopp's plans again in 2014-15.
