Cabella will join Marseille on a permanent transfer after spending last season on loan from Newcastle United, Lee Ryder of the Chronicle reports.

Cabella racked up six goals in all competitions for the Ligue 1 side, but failed to make an impact in the Europa League. With the transfer saga finally behind him, the midfielder will be able to focus solely on the pitch and could put up some decent numbers this season similar to his previous stint in France.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Cabella had a disappointing debut season in England, scoring just one goal with two assists in 34 appearances in all competitions.

The Frenchman showed considerable talent throughout the season, but his efforts simply didn't translate into goals. Not quite the return Newcastle were hoping for after shelling out over $18 million for the 25-year-old last summer, and they will hope Cabella flourishes next season after this adjustment period.

Cabella will return from his knee injury to face Everton on Sunday, manager John Carver confirmed Friday.

Cabella has been training all week after missing three games due to the ailment, which came at a terrible time given how well he was finally playing in a Newcastle kit. Everton have been a bit leaky this season, which could allow Cabella to continue his scoring ways.
