Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp said Thursday that Sakho's knee injury is not as severe as initially expected, and he could return before January.

It was believed that Sakho could miss a majority of the rest of the season because of the ailment, but Klopp intimated Thursday that Sakho could potentially return around Christmas, which would certainly be a boost for the Reds, who are expected to use Dejan Lovren or Kolo Toure in his place.
