Draxler signed with Wolfsburg on Monday after transferring from Schalke.

Draxler had been linked with a number of clubs, including Arsenal and Juventus, but he'll stay in Germany for Wolfsburg, who have plenty of money to spend after selling Kevin de Bruyne to Manchester City for more than 50 million. Draxler, who is still just 21, has made numerous international appearances for Germany, is likely to see an increase in his fantasy value because of Wolfsburg's solid attackers around him.

Draxler suffered a hamstring injury early in Schalke's Bundesliga match with FC Augsburg on Friday, and he could be out until 2015, ESPN FC reports. "He's picked up another injury -- it looks like a serious muscle injury," sporting director Horst Heldt said. "I'm working on the basis that Julian won't play again before the winter break."

A very tough blow to Schalke, as well as a number of other European clubs, who have consistently shown interest in a move for Draxler. The 21-year-old has two goals and one assist in eight games this season.

Draxler said he will stay at Schalke next season after turning down an overture from Arsenal last January, reports the Daily Mail.

Arsenal submitted a bid for the midfielder last winter, but the offer was rejected for being too small. Rumors continued that Arsenal may try again in the summer, but Draxler appears to have put that speculation to rest.

Schalke said that Arsenal's transfer bid for Draxler (hamstring) did not meet the club's asking price, reports the Mirror.

Draxler was rumored to be a target for Arsenal during the January transfer window, but a deal never materialized. Now it would appear as though the reason a deal never happened was that Arsenal weren't willing to pay what Schalke were asking.

Instead of completing a potential move to Arsenal, Draxler is traveling to Munich to receive treatment on a ruptured tendon in his hamstring that will keep him out of action until March, reports the Daily Mail.

Arsenal was hoping to complete a 37 million deal for the Schalke midfielder to add cover for the injured Theo Walcott (knee). Any potential move has been, at a minimum, delayed for Draxler's treatment, and could diminish any chance of the deal being completed in the winter transfer window.

Draxler continues to draw interest from Arsenal, the Mirror reports.

Draxler, a 20-year-old German attacking midfielder that stands 6-2, sparked the Gunners' attention during last summer's transfer window, but after Arsenal signed countryman Mesut Ozil, any potential Draxler deal was put on hold. However, with Theo Walcott (knee) recently going down, Arsenal is said to be interested in triggering Draxler's release clause of around 35 million. Through 20 appearances across all competitions this season, Draxler has totaled four goals and five assists. Additionally, Schalke's general manager was quoted this week saying, "We continue to hope that Julian remains, but there are factors that we can not influence."
