20-Year-Old Midfielder Everton Premier
Ross Barkley Contract Information:
Signed a new four-year contract in July of 2014
Everton manager Roberto Martinez said Barkley could return from his knee injury in as little as eight weeks. "It's a medial ligament injury and we know that Ross, in terms of the power and strength that he has in his body, he could easily react to treatment a lot better than other players," Martinez said Tuesday. "The length that Ross will be out is a little uncertain at the moment and it could be anything between the eight weeks that we mentioned or a little further. Until the end of the week, or probably the next 10 days, we won't know how the knee is progressing and how quickly Ross can be back."
Martinez pushed back on speculation that Barkley could miss up to five months with the injury, but it's clear he isn't going to return in the short-term. Barkley was widely considered an underpriced asset in most salary cap games, but he won't producing anything in the coming weeks.
