Courtois made one save during Chelsea's 3-1 win over Burnley on Monday.

After manager Jose Mourinho speculated that Courtois would be held out of the match due to minimal training following the World Cup, the Belgian keeper got the start ahead of longtime Blues keeper Petr Cech, who will continue to fight for the starting job until he's sent elsewhere. Courtois lost his clean sheet just 14 minutes into the match, but a home match against Leicester City on Saturday could get him his first Premier League clean sheet.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Courtois is starting Chelsea's Premier League opener against Burnley on Monday ahead of Petr Cech.

Manager Jose Mourinho previously indicated that he was going to hold out his players who made it at least to the quarterfinals of the World Cup, which included Courtois, Eden Hazard, Andre Schurrle, and Oscar, but each one of them is starting Monday. Courtois is certainly the future in goal for Chelsea, and it appears that his future begins now.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Courtois is expected to be held out of Chelsea's Premier League opener Monday against Burnley, ESPN FC reports.

Courtois is in a battle with Petr Cech for the starting keeper position but after making it to the quarterfinal of the World Cup with Belgium, manager Jose Mourinho has deemed Courtois not fit enough to begin the season. He isn't expected to be out long and fantasy owners will have to wait until Gameweek 2 to find out if Courtois has won the job or not.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has yet to decide whether Courtois or Petr Cech will be his starting goalkeeper this season, the Independent reports.

Either pick would be an excellent fantasy option, and it would almost be a bit surprising if it wasn't Courtois, given that Chelsea could have loaned him out again after three successful years at Atletico Madrid. Chelsea have four more preseason friendlies before the Premier League opener against Burnley on Aug. 18 and it appears Mourinho is going to use all the time he has before he makes his decision.

Courtois made four saves in the 2-1 win over the United States on Tuesday in the round of 16 at the World Cup.

Courtois really wasn't asked to do too much for the first 110 minutes of the match, but had to turn it on as the US made one final push, getting off seven shots in the last thirteen minutes. Belgium were just bombarding the US for the majority of the match, getting off an amazing 27 shots, so Courtois had a relatively easy day at the office. He will surely be tested more this weekend in a bout against a very dangerous attacking Argentina this Saturday.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Courtois made three saves during Belgium's 1-0 win over Russia at the World Cup on Sunday. The clean sheet was the 100th of his career, accumulated internationally for Belgium and in league play with Genk and Atletico Madrid.

Courtois is widely considered one of the best keepers in the world, but his future is very much up in the air. He is under contract at Chelsea, but has been loaned out to Atletico Madrid three straight seasons. Petr Cech has been the starter at Stamford Bridge for quite some time, but is appears that Courtois may be in a position to unseat the Chelsea legend.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho said that Courtois, who has spent the last three seasons on loan at Atletico Madrid, will be going back to Chelsea after the World Cup, The Guardian reports. "When the World Cup in Brazil is over, Courtois will be coming straight back to Stamford Bridge -- end of story," Mourinho said.

Courtois is widely considered one of the best goalkeepers in the world, but he has yet to play for Chelsea thanks to No. 1 keeper Petr Cech, who is still just 32 years old. It is unclear if Mourinho will replace Cech with Courtois, or if it's just grandstanding to ultimately sell him in his attempt to land Atletico striker Diego Costa. Courtois' fantasy value is obviously highly-dependent on whether he can garner consistent starts in whatever league he ultimately plays in next season.

Reports suggest that Courtois and Chelsea are close to agreeing on a two-year extension, according to the Daily Mail.

Courtois is on loan with Atletico Madrid, and could face his parent club in the Champions League on Tuesday after UEFA ruled that a clause in the agreement requiring Madrid to pay a fee to Chelsea should they field him against his home club is invalid.
