Mariappa started three games for Jamaica in Copa America 2016, taking two shots with one on target and receiving one yellow card on one foul, and took his international tally to one goal in 41 caps. Jamaica finished fourth in group C with no points and were eliminated.

Mariappa found playing time hard to come by last season with Crystal Palace. Jamaica's skipper checked in merely three Premier League starts with no clean sheets and four tackles. The 29-year-old defender's fantasy upside is significantly limited off the bench.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Mariappa tallied two dribbles, four tackles and five clearances in Wednesday's 2-0 loss to Man Utd.

Mariappa was, by far, the only bright spot in a very chaotic Eagles' defense. That's only his second Premier League game of the season but his effort raises the serious question: why hasn't he featured more often in a team that has struggled mightily, at times? With this low level of consideration, though, his fantasy upside is very limited.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Mariappa has been used as back-up to the full backs for Crystal Palace.

Mariappa has had his fair share of injury problems this season and as a result has made just 10 total appearances as a backup to Joel Ward and Martin Kelly.

Mariappa (knee) has returned to full training, according to the club.

Mariappa (knee) could be in line for the place on the substitute's bench for this Saturday's trip to Manchester City.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Mariappa returned to the staring XI for Saturday's 1-0 loss at Manchester United.

Mariappa was preferred to Martin Kelly at right back by manager Neil Warnock in a defence that came close to keeping a clean sheet.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Mariappa should make the starting XI for Saturday's trip to West Brom.

Mariappa will deputise for Damien Delaney (suspension) who misses one game after a red card last time out. The defender plays alongside Brede Hangeland for the first time ever due to the fact Scott Dann (knee) is still out of action. Mariappa has one clean sheet so far this season though fantasy managers shouldn't expect a second one this weekend.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Mariappa lost his place in the starting XI for Sunday's 3-2 win at Everton.

Mariappa ended up as an unused substitute after his right back place was taken by Martin Kelly. Manager Neil Warnock has been alternating between the two defenders so far this season and when Mariappa does play there is the chance he will chip with an assist even though clean sheets look like being hard to come by.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Mariappa recorded a clean sheet in Saturday's 0-0 draw with Burnley.

Mariappa supplanted Martin Kelly at right back in the Palace starting lineup and was solid in a draw with the promoted side. Manager Neil Warnock looks like preferring Mariappa as first choice right back yet fantasy managers should be cautious due to the he side's poor defensive record so far.
