Bertrand provided the assist for Southampton's only goal in a 1-1 draw against Aston Villa on Monday.

The left full-back overlapped well and put in a cross for Nathaniel Clyne's equaliser. He now has two assists and a goal in the Premier League. Bertrand has been a big part of Southampton's success the season, getting forward to attack whilst maintaining a solid defence.

Bertrand secured a clean sheet in Saturday's 8-0 annihilation of Sunderland.

Bertrand scored his first ever Premier League goal in Southampton's 2-1 win over Queens Park Rangers on Saturday.

Bertrand has been loan to Southampton from Chelsea for the 2014-15 season.

Bertrand was loaned to Aston Villa last season and clearly doesn't fit in with the defensive pairings in Jose Mourinho's back four. As such, he'll join Southampton, who have already lost Luke Shaw and Dejan Lovren from last year's back line.

Liverpool may be interested in seeking the transfer of Bertrand after missing out on the defender in January, according to the Daily Mail.

The northern club missed out on two defensive targets this summer so far, but have been following Bertrand for nearly 12 months now. In January the player joined Aston Villa on loan.

Bertrand overcame an illness to start and play all 90 minutes of Aston Villa's 4-1 win over Norwich City on Sunday.

Bertrand has been a consistent member of the Villa starting XI since coming over in January on loan from Chelsea. Unfortunately, he's only recorded one clean sheet in that span, a scoreless draw against Cardiff City on February 11. With next weekend's scheduled Premier League match against Manchester City postponed due to City's FA Cup tie with Wigan, Bertrand's next time out will come March 15 against Chelsea.

Bertrand, who collided with the goalpost during Saturday's match against West Ham, is considered an injury doubt for Tuesday's match against Cardiff City, the Birmingham Mail reports.

Bertrand was able to play on after the collision, but eventually had to be subbed off for Joe Bennett with 15 minutes remaining in the match. Bertrand has been a nice contributor since coming over on loan from Chelsea in January.

Bertrand has been loaned to Aston Villa for the remainder of the season, ESPN FC reports.

Bertrand played very sparingly for Chelsea this season and the move to Villa Park should certainly get him more time on the pitch. He has already had loan spells at Bournemouth, Oldham Athletic, Norwich City, Reading, and Nottingham Forest in his career.
