Berahino, who came on in the first half after Xherdan Shaqiri limped off with a leg injury, played an incisive through pass which led to Jese's winning goal in the 47th minute. The arrival of the latter seemed to push Berahino to the bench, but an absence of any length for Shaqiri could afford him a run of starts. It remains to be seen if he is included in the first XI next Sunday against West Brom.
