Gestede (hamstring) is out for Saturday's match against Norwich City.

The big center forward has been in something of a holding pattern of late, looking like he could return in the run-up to the match, but eventually being held out. With Libor Kozak out as well, Villa is down to just Gabby Agbonlahor and Scott Sinclair up front against the Canaries. Gestede has four goals in 22 matches this season with two of those goals coming as a substitute.

Despite failing to score in three consecutive Premier League games, a home match against Bournemouth moves Jamie Vardy to the top of the forwards rankings.

Gestede will miss out on Tuesday's match versus West Ham because of a hamstring injury.

The striker appeared as a subtsitute in last week's match versus West Brom, but he came away with the injury and was forced to miss this past weekend's FA Cup fixture with Manchester City. Fellow striker Libor Kozak is also expected to miss Tuesday's match, leaving the door open for Scott Sinclair or Gabriel Agbonlahor to enter the starting lineup.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Gestede did not play in Saturday's FA Cup tie against Manchester City because of his hamstring injury, but he may be able to return for Tuesday's Premier League match against West Ham, manager Remi Garde said.

Gestede provides plenty of size in the box for Villa, and with their crossing fullbacks in Aly Cissokho and Leandro Bacuna, he's always a possibility for a goal, though given Villa's struggles this season, he makes for more of a dart throw than a consistent fantasy option.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Gestede came on in the 64th minute of Saturday's match against West Brom, but he had to come off roughly 15 minutes later after suffering a hamstring injury.

Despite scoring last weekend, Gestede wasn't able to break into the first XI on Saturday, and his injury will only keep him out of the starting lineup for a longer period of time.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Gestede came on as a sub Saturday and scored the only goal in a 1-1 draw to Leicester.

The Frenchmen now has three goals in 20 appearances this year, but he's been struggling as of late. It's been a myriad of injuries and lack of playing time that has hampered him and it's unclear what Villa wants to do with him. Considering he's a 27-year-old, there doesn't appear to be much upside here and his time with Aston Villa very well may be limited.

Gestede was unimpressive in 22 minutes off the bench recording just two aerials won, seven passes and 11 total touches in the 2-0 loss to Norwich on Monday.

The French was unable to change the dynamics of the game off the bench. However, hell probably have a chance to affect the visit to Sunderland on Saturday as he may pick up the starting spot of the suspended Jordan Ayew up front. Hes on a total of three goals in nine starts (19 total appearances) for the season.

Gestede (knee) is starting against Arsenal on Sunday.

Gestede was deemed fit by manager Remi Garde on Thursday, as the knock he picked up last week wasn't expected to be a long-term concern. Arsenal are coming off an emotional Champions League win at Olympiakos during the midweek, so Villa may be able to catch them unexpectedly.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Gestede has been declared fit for Sunday's match against Arsenal after recovering from a minor knee injury.

The Frenchman's availability for the match was in question after he picked up a knock last week, but he will be part of the squad and could be in contention to make his second consecutive start.
