Green will not play in the United States' friendlies against Ecuador and Honduras over the international break due to a rib injury, ESPN FC reports.

Green participated in training with the U.S. team Tuesday and Wednesday but will be sent back to Hamburg to continue his recover. At this point it is still unclear if he will be able to face TSG Hoffenheim on Oct. 19 when Bundesliga play picks up again.

Green (ribs) was ruled out injured for the second consecutive match as Hamburg lost 2-1 Sunday to Eintracht Frankfurt.

Having never played for the Bayern Munich first team in league play, Green was loaned to Hamburg this season to gain much needed match experience. Having made two appearances for Hamburg, bruised ribs unfortunately sidelined the American. With Hamburg slipping to the bottom of the Bundesliga at the weekend and having just broken the unenviable league record for most minutes to start a season without a goal, they will need as many attacking options available. Expect Green to recover and return to some form of action in the upcoming trip to Dortmund.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Green has been loaned to Hamburger SV for the 2014/15 Bundesliga season.

Green wasn't going to get any playing time at Bayern, so he moves to a Hamburg side where he'll get significantly more first team football, which will only help his development as a player.

Green came on as a late sub and scored in the 107th minute of the United States' 2-1 loss to Belgium in the round of 16 at the World Cup on Tuesday.

Green became the youngest player to score a World Cup goal since Lionel Messi in 2006. Unfortunately for the Americans, it was their only score of the match and they will have to sit back and watch Belgium take on Argentina on Saturday. Green will likely get a few looks from other European clubs during the transfer window, but he will most likely stick with Bayern Munich, despite the near-total lack of first team football.

Green was named to the United States National Team for this summer's World Cup.

Green officially changed his nationality in March, and it now appears that a spot on the roster may have been part of the deal. He's been a minimal player for Bayern Munich as well, but the future is very very bright for the 18-year-old.

FIFA approved Green's change of nationality application and he officially eligible to play for the U.S. men's national team, ESPN FC reports.

Green switched his nationality from Germany, presumably with an eye on making the U.S. World Cup team this summer. There are reportedly no guarantees that he'll make the squad, but the 18-year old will see plenty of international football in his career. He is expected to train with the U.S. ahead of its friendly against Mexico on Apr. 2, a match he is now eligible to play in.

Green has decided to play his international football for the United States of America, U.S. Soccer announced on Tuesday.

Green has applied to FIFA for a Change of Association, as he has already made numerous appearances for Germany in junior competitions. This is a huge boost for the U.S. Men's National Team, although it is unclear if Green will be included in the roster for this summer's World Cup.
