Armstrong joined Coventry City on Tuesday for a six-month loan, the Newcastle Chronicle reports.

Armstrong is in desperate need of first-team football and was a long shot to get any playing time with Newcastle. He was on the bench for a number of matches last season because of numerous injuries, but he never got enough playing time to make an impact.
