Brooks made an astonishing 17 clearances, three interceptions, and two tackles to preserve the clean sheet in Saturday's 2-0 win against Ingolstadt.

Brooks anchored the Hertha Berlin defense and helped secure the victory for his side by closing down the Ingolstadt attack. The American national has gotten off to a great start this season and will look to put in another top performance next Sunday against Schalke 04.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Brooks was held out of the Copa America match against Colombia with inflammation in his knee, BZ-Berlin reports.

Brooks' knee injury will have little impact for the US National Team now that Copa America Centenario has wrapped up. However, without further details on the severity of the injury, concerns are high for Hertha BSC, who are qualified for the Europa League this upcoming season. The defender averaged a tackle per match in the Bundesliga last season along with tallying three goals and an assist in all competitions. When healthy, the 23-year-old's speed on the wing make him an attacking threat, albeit one that hasn't materialised often in Germany.

Brooks didn't take part in USA final Copa America Centenario game and finished the tournament with two clean sheets, six fouls drawn and one yellow card on five fouls. He took his international tally to 26 caps and three goals. USA finished fourth after losing the third-place game 1-0 to Colombia on Saturday.

Brooks had a solid season as a starter, for the most part of last season, with Hertha. The 23-year-old center back, though, wasn't very productive in fantasy outside the clean sheets totaling one goal, one assist, 10 clean sheets and 23 tackles in as many Bundesliga appearances (20 starts).

Brooks recorded second consecutive clean sheet in Copa America 1-0 win over Paraguay on Saturday.

The 23-year-old defender has played well and despite his young age and only 24 caps he's now part of what shapes up to be a solid defensive line for the Yanks. The Americans overtook the top spot in group A and that may give them an easier match up in their quarterfinals clash on Thursday.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Brooks signed a new contract with Hertha Berlin on Sunday that runs through the 2018-19 season, reports.

Brooks has been a fairly steady player for Hertha, making 12 league appearances this season, though his fantasy value is closely tied to clean sheets, of which he has three in his last four league matches.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Brooks came on for Matt Besler at halftime and scored off a header in the 86th minute of USA's 2-1 win over Ghana in their opening World Cup match Monday.

Brooks took a Graham Zusi corner and powered it into the back of the net just four minutes after Ghana tied the match at 1-1. The goal marked the first scored by a substitute in US World Cup history, and Brooks' appearance officially cap-tied him to the US, as he had not yet played a match for the United States in an international competition. Besler was removed for precautionary reasons due to a hamstring injury, and if he is limited throughout the week, Brooks could get the start against Portugal on Sunday.
