Perez was brought on for Emmanuel Rivière in the 77th minute then was substituted for Steven Taylor after Mike Williamson was sent off in the 88th minute of Newcastle's 0-0 draw with Aston Villa on Saturday.

Perez has looked good in the limited time he has seen on the pitch over the first two matches. With the Toon attack lacking to score yet this season it will be interesting to see if manager Alan Pardew begins to tinker with his starting formation which could result in Perez getting more minutes.

Perez came on for fellow new signing Emmanuel Rivière in the 83rd minute of Newcastle's 0-2 loss to Manchester City on Sunday.

Perez was one of five Toon players to debut for manager Alan Pardew and despite his late arrival, Perez almost equalized just after coming on. The youngster looked good on the ball, but will likely be limited to a reserve roll in order to ease him into the Premier League.

Perez has signed an 18 month contract with Newcastle, making the move to the Premier League from Segunda Division side Tenerife, ESPN FC reports.

Perez signs as Newcastle's first permanent signing since January 2013, but at just 20 years old, the Spaniard will likely take some time to find his way into the first team. With striker Loic Remy likely moving on, it would be surprising if Newcastle didn't add another striker this summer.
