Mustafi officially joined Arsenal after transferring from Valencia for a fee of approximately 35 million on Tuesday, ESPN FC reports.

There had been many conflicting reports as to whether or not Mustafi would be on the move this summer, and Tuesday's official announcement finally brought the saga to a close. He will add quality to a thin Arsenal center back corps that saw youngster Rob Holding start each of the first three Premier League matches, and he should be a mainstay in the starting lineup at least until Per Mertesacker returns from his extended absence later this season.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Valencia manager Pako Ayestaran said that Mustafi would not be sold during the current transfer window, reports Sky Sports.

Reports that the defender had agreed to move to Arsenal recently picked up steam with the London side negotiating a transfer fee. Mustafi's contract includes a 43.1 million buyout clause that may be a stumbling block for the deal, though. Mustafi was a second-half substitute for Valencia's first match of the season against Las Palmas.

Mustafi is on the bench for Monday's opener versus Las Palmas.

Amidst heavy transfer negotiations between Arsenal and Valencia Mustafi has been left out of the starting line-up for the opener versus Las Palmas. The coveted center back was considered to be certain for Arsenal move. However, negotiations have stalled and with his future in limbo he's been spared for clearer days.

Mustafi made two appearances (one start) for Germany during Euro 2016, scoring his first international goal on two shots (one on target) and adding one clean sheets, three tackles and three fouls to improve his record to 12 caps. Germany were knocked out in the semifinals after a 2-0 defeat by France.

Mustafi was one of the few solid pieces in a ground-shifting campaign for Valencia last season. The 24-year-old center back, though, wasn't much of a fantasy factor with Valencia's overall poor performance not allowing him to take advantage on his form. He finished the season with two goals, six clean sheets, 80 tackles and 14 yellow cards in 30 La Liga starts.

Mustafi won two tackles, secured seven interceptions and scored the opening goal of Sunday's 2-0 win over the Ukraine.

Starting in place of the injured Mats Hummels, Mustafi made the most of his opportunity, nodding home a free-kick in the first half and helping the reigning World champions to a clean sheet in the opener. Mustafi could head to the bench once Hummels returns, but he is also a capable fullback and could displace Benedikt Howedes from the right flank if manager Joachim Low elects to keep him in the starging XI.

The right back who was part of Germany's winning World Cup side this summer has moved to Valencia from Sampdoria, Goal.com reports.

A nice move for both teams. Sampdoria already has veteran Lorenzo De Silvestre at right back.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Mustafi was named to the Germany 23-man World Cup squad in place of Marco Reus, who was ruled out with an ankle injury, The Guardian reports.

Mustafi was a bit of a surprise given that he's a defender and Reus is a midfielder, although coach Joachim Low referenced the talent he has in midfield, such as Lukas Podolski, Mario Gotze, Thomas Muller, Mesut Ozil, and Toni Kroos, among others. Mustafi barely missed out on the roster the first time, so it's not a big surprise that he has now made it.
