Navas will miss Wednesday's Champions League match versus Sporting as he continues to recover from an ankle injury, UEFA.com reports.

Navas has yet to play since initially suffering the injury in July, meaning Kiko Casilla should get another in goal Wednesday. Navas has been said to be nearing a return, however, and could make his season debut Sunday versus Espanyol.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Navas (achilles) is doubtful for Saturday's La Liga fixture against Celta, Marca reports.

Navas was a partial participant in Friday's training and with the international break approaching he may be given extra time to gain full fitness. Kiko Casilla earned a clean sheet Sunday versus Real Sociedad and will probably grab another start with the youngster Ruben Yanez backing up if Navas can't make the team at all.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Navas (Achilles) is not in the 18-man squad to face Real Sociedad on Sunday.

Navas was a supreme long shot to start given he hasn't even returned to training after undergoing offseason Achilles surgery, leaving Kiko Casilla to start in his stead.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Navas (Achilles) has yet to return to full training and is highly doubtful to play Sunday against Real Sociedad, ESPN Deportes reports.

Navas hasn't played since the Champions League final, and while he is at least progressing in his recovery, he could miss a number of games as he finishes up his rehab. Kiko Casilla will likely start in his absence.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Navas (Achilles) is unlikely to play in the UEFA Super Cup against Sevilla on Aug. 8, but he could be ready for the La Liga opener against Real Sociedad on Aug. 21, ESPN FC reports.

Navas has been sidelined since undergoing surgery on his Achilles earlier this summer, and while he hasn't returned to Europe to be examined by the doctor who performed the procedure, he is fully expected to ramp up his activities in the coming week to allow him to play early in the league season. If he's forced to miss any time, Kiko Casilla will likely fill in.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Navas helped Real Madrid to a second-place finish in La Liga and played a crucial role in their run to the Champions League title last season.

Navas kept 14 clean sheets in league play as Los Blancos finished just one point behind winners Barcelona, but he was able to finish the job in Europe with a shootout victory over Atletico Madrid in the final. Navas proved himself to be the long-term option at the club after David de Gea was so nearly acquired from Manchester United at the beginning of last season, and he should be a valuable fantasy piece now that he has solidified himself in the role. He missed out on Costa Rica's Copa America campaign due to an Achilles injury, but he is expected to rejoin training soon.
