Wijnaldum (hamstring) will need to pass a late fitness test ahead of Saturday's match with West Brom.

Wijnaldum began training after Monday's clash with Manchester United and could be an option for Saturday. Jordan Henderson and Emre Can were given the start as Liverpool's centre-midfielders during the northwest derby. With James Milner currently serving as LFC's starting left-back, Milner, Henderson, and WIjnaldum are Jurgen Klopp's main options in the centre.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Wijnaldum (hip) is not in the 18-man squad to face Manchester United on Monday.

Wijnaldum was not expected to play because of the injury suffered over the international break, and while he didn't make the game-day squad on Monday, he is not expected to be out long-term. Emre Can will start in his place.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Wijnaldum is highly doubtful to play Monday against Manchester United because of a hip injury, the Liverpool Echo reports.

It was believed that Wijnaldum suffered a hamstring injury while playing for the Netherlands earlier this week, but scans have since revealed it's actually a hip issue. He is reportedly undergoing intensive treatment with a possibility of playing Monday, though it looks more likely that he will sit out, possibly opening up more playing time for Emre Can.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Wijnaldum was forced off the field in the 62nd minute of Holland's World Cup qualifying loss to France on Monday with a hamstring injury, The Guardian reports.

Wijnaldum has been a key cog in the Liverpool squad making seven starts already. With two assists and 1.6 shots per game in a very prolific attack, he has decent fantasy upside despite playing deeper.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Wijnaldum tallied an assist in Saturday's 4-1 victory over Leicester City.

Since arriving from Newcastle this summer, Wijnaldum hasn't been quite the force week-in and week-out that Liverpool may have hoped he'd be; however, when he's tallied an assist, the Reds are 2-0-0. Not typically known as the creative engine of a team and spent last season in either the left wing or in a more advanced role for Newcastle, Wijnaldum will look to make an impact in a deeper role for Liverpool.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Wijnaldum won two tackles and provided an assist during Sunday's 4-3 victory over Arsenal.

Wijnaldum got the start as a member of a midfield trio, and although he didn't get forward with great regularity, he was able to enter the box and set up Adam Lallana in the 49th minute to give the Reds their first lead. Wijnaldum could eventually be squeezed out of the lineup if the lineup is shuffled upon Daniel Sturridge's (hip) return, but his versatility could see him play a regular role regardless. A fixture with newly-promoted Burnley awaits next Saturday.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Wijnaldum officially signed with Liverpool on Friday after transferring from Newcastle United.

The move has been widely speculated for a number of weeks, and Wijnaldum's arrival at Anfield certainly puts Adam Lallana's playing time in question. Wijnaldum was excellent in spurts last season, but went cold for a number of weeks, so the Reds will certainly hope he can provide more consistency this season.

Wijnaldum scored on both his shots on goal (one from PK) in Sunday's 5-1 season finale win over Tottenham.

Wijnaldum took a full advantage on the feast that Magpies took on the dispirited Spurs and scored his first goals since January. Despite the four-month dry spell, though, he'll still finish the season as the Magpies' top scorer, with 11 goals. The promising midfielder also has five assists taking part in every single Premier League game this season (36 starts).
