Zardes will leave the Galaxy following Saturday's game against San Jose to join the U.S. Men's National Team in preparation for the Gold Cup.

Zardes recently won Player of the Week honors from the MLS and will take that momentum into international play for the majority of July. Fellow forward Alan Gordon is expected to see more time on the field during the impending absence of Zardes.

Zardes had his best outing of the season Saturday against the Union, scoring a goal and tallying two assists during the 5-1 victory.

Zardes reentered the starting XI for the first time since May as a result of his international stint with U.S. Men's National Team in Europe. With Zardes named to the provisional roster for the Gold Cup as well, there's a possibility that he'll also miss the majority of MLS action in July.

Zardes (international duty) is available off the bench against the Crew on Saturday.

Zardes just recently rejoined the club after playing in Europe with the US Men's National Team and manager Bruce Arena is likely limiting his workload to prevent fatigue later in the season.

Zardes (international duty) has rejoined the Galaxy but he's considered questionable to play against the Crew on Saturday, Adam Serrano of LA Galaxy Insider reports.

Zardes had been competing in Europe with the US Men's National Team but was able to train with the Galaxy on Friday. Manager Bruce Arena won't decide if he'll utilize Zardes until closer to kickoff, making the forward a risky option to use until his availability is made clear.

Zardes will miss Saturday's match against Vancouver because he will be with the US Men's National Team for friendlies against Germany and the Netherlands.

The second friendly will be played June 10, so it's possible that Zardes could return to face the Crew on June 13, though it's certainly not guaranteed depending on how much he plays for Jurgen Klinsmann.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Zardes scored his eighth goal of the season in the Galaxy win over Portland on Saturday, tying the game in extra time of the first half.

Seven of Zardes' eight goals this season have come since June 8. He began the year as a part-time player, even sitting out two games early on the season, but he's the last seven games and played the full game in all but one of those games. The Galaxy are playing their best soccer of the season right now, have nearly everyone healthy and in form, and Zardes is a big part of that.
