Bennett played 90 minutes and scored a goal as the Canaries U-21s beat Bolton U-21s by five goals to one in the Professional U-21 Development League, the Eastern Daily Press reports.

It is a good sign to see that Bennett is getting over his knee surgery, but in playing this game he is likely precluded from the first team squad which travels to Fulham this weekend. Expect him to be in the squad for the remaining four games of the season, as Norwich aim to avoid relegation.

We knew Bennett was going to miss the remainder of 2013. At least now there is a timetable for his return, so he should not be on your fantasy radar for another three months.

Bennett (knee) signed a two-year contract extension with Norwich City, reports.

Bennett joined Norwich in the summer of 2011 from Brighton and has scored three goals in 64 appearances with the club. Despite going down with a knee ligament injury at the end of August, taking him out for this season, the club rewarded him with a new deal that will keep him at Norwich until 2016.

Bennett netted the winner for Norwich as they claimed an impressive 2-1 away win over Spurs on Monday.

Bennett, with one goal now in 28 appearances for the Canaries, would certainly not have been favored to scored on a pitch loaded with stars. His unbelievable strike may be the highlight of the season for a Norwich side that continues to impress.
