Torres came on in the 59th minute and assisted on the leveling goal during Wednesday's 1-1 draw with Barcelona.

Torres came on alongside Angel Correa, and he flicked a ball into the latter's path before he scored the tying goal as the match reached its latter stages. Torres has started just one match this season, but he appears to be finding his way in his substitute role, as he has two goals and an assist in the last two appearances. He could enter the starting lineup Sunday versus Deportivo if manager Diego Simeone elects to rotate the squad.

Fantasy La Liga: Sunday Cheat Sheet

There are some big players missing from Sunday's three-game La Liga slate, but that doesn't mean the fantasy points won't be flowing.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Torres scored two goals on three shots (two on target) including converting a penalty in Saturday's 5-0 victory over Sporting Gijon.

Brought on for Antoine Griezmann in the 69th minute, Torres wasted little time in opening his account for the season. He then completed his double some 20 minutes later by converting from the spot to give Atletico a comfortable 5-0 victory. After a slow start to the season from an attacking standpoint, scoring just once in the opening two matches, Atletico have scored nine goals in their last two La Liga matches to put them right back on schedule.

Torres came on as a substitute in the 45th minute and failed to score in Atletico's 1-1 draw against Alaves on Sunday.

Although he failed to score, Torres drew the controversial penalty that gave Atletico a short-lived 1-0 lead. The goal was scored by Kevin Gameiro, who figures to be the no. 2 scoring option behind Antoine Greizmann for Atletico Madrid this season. The signing of Gameiro, who scored 16 goals for Sevilla last season, spells restricted minutes for Torres. Despite his great career, his fantasy value will be greatly limited if Gameiro continues to score like he can.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Torres signed a new one-year permanent deal with Atletico Madrid after a free transfer from AC Milan.

Torres earned his new deal after a sensational ending of last season. He started the campaign on a low note, though, a run of nine goals and two assists in his last 14 La Liga games of the season reminded of his glorious days. The striker finished the season with 11 goals, four assists and 1.9 shots per game in 30 La Liga appearances (17 starts) reaching along the way his 100th goal mark for Atletico Madrid.

Torres is back in the starting 11 for Sunday's match against Granada.

Torres was forced to miss the Barcelona match due to a suspension, however now he's right back in the starting lineup. He'll look to create scoring chances as he faces a struggling Granada team near the bottom of the league.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Torres will be out of the starting XI against Barcelona on Tuesday thanks to a red card in the reverse fixture.

Torres's absence due to suspension is a huge setback for Atletico who will need every goal they can get to overcome the Spanish giants. The forward does have eight scores in all competitions this season, but only one of those has come in the Champions League. If they can overcome their 1-2 deficit from the first leg, the 32-year-old will slot back into the lineup for the next round of the competition.

Torres said that he hopes to stay with Atletico Madrid beyond this season and that he has no desire to move anywhere else, reports Sky Sports.

Torres joined Atletico on loan from AC Milan, and is hoping to extend that agreement or make the move a permanent one. The striker scored four goals in eight starts in La Liga so far this season, but hasn't been a consistent face in the side.

Torres will join Atletico Madrid on loan in January for the rest of this season and all of next term, the club announced Tuesday.

Torres completed a permanent transfer from Chelsea to AC Milan last week, who are then loaning him to his boyhood club. Torres made his professional debut at 17 with the club before eventually becoming captain, scoring 91 goals in 244 games. From a fantasy perspective, he is unlikely to unseat starting striker Mario Mandzukic, and he will have to battle Antoine Griezmann for playing time as well.
