Cahill picked up his first goal of the season during Chelsea's 2-1 win over Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday.

There was some confusion over the score, as most players on the field kept playing after the ball hit Cahill and went in, but the goal-detection system showed the ball crossed the line after touching the defender, giving him his first goal of the season. He was actually also responsible for Liverpool's goal, as Emre Can fired a shot from distance that hit Cahill's shoulder and went in after being redirected, though Can was given credit for the goal, saving Cahill from an own goal. It was a solidly productive day for Cahill, who has struggled putting up many defensive stats lately, last posting a clean sheet Oct. 5 against Arsenal.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Cahill had two clearances and blocked a shot during Chelsea's 2-0 win over Arsenal on Sunday, his third consecutive clean sheet in all competitions.

Cahill continues to be a steady starter in the middle of the Chelsea defense alongside John Terry, and now that they are starting to clamp it down after a rather leaky first couple of games to the season, Cahill should be able to garner more clean sheets, which is the source of much of his fantasy value in most formats.

Cahill registered his second clean sheet of the Premier League season during Saturday's 3-0 win over Aston Villa, though he also picked up a yellow card.

Chelsea's defense has been a bit suspect this season, with only two shutouts through six matches. It only gets tougher for Cahill, as Chelsea travel to Portugal for Tuesday's Champions League match against Sporting CP before hosting Arsenal next Saturday in Premier League play.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Cahill failed to register a shot during Chelsea's 4-2 win over Swansea City on Saturday.

After blanking Leicester City 2-0 back on Aug. 23, Chelsea have given up five goals in the last two games. Things aren't particularly looking better for Cahill, as Chelsea travel to face Manchester City on Sunday.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Cahill took two shots, with one on goal, while registering a clean sheet with Chelsea's 2-0 win over Leicester City on Saturday.

Cahill doesn't get involved in the attack much as a central-defender, but he's been known to get his head on a few corners now-and-then. That being said, his fantasy value is primarily derived from clean sheets, something Chelsea is expected to do quite often this season.

Cahill suffered a calf injury and is now doubtful to play in the FA Cup against Manchester City on Saturday, according to Sky Sports.

Cahill suffered the injury in Tuesday's match against West Brom. He was not substituted, but will require further tests to determine the severity of the issue.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Cahill scored in the 55th minute of Sunday's 3-1 win over Southampton.

Cahill headed home a ball that Demba Ba knocked off the woodwork for his first goal of the Premier League season. He doesn't usually get involved in the attack, but gave a nice bonus to fantasy owners playing him for a potential clean sheet.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Cahill has appeared in four Premier League contests for Chelsea this season but has been an unused substitute in three of the last four league matches.

Cahill began the season firmly planted in the Starting XI for new-again manager Jose Mourinho but he's taken a back seat with David Luiz back to full fitness. With plenty of competition for playing time this season, Cahill remains a weak selection for fantasy owners looking for defenders with consistent playing time.
